There's a big hurricane here right now, it's knocked a lot of the power in the city out and they've moved people out of areas were the flooding is the worst. It's pretty bad flooding here already, but our apartment is a few floors up so it's okay up here.
The subways are all closed down and a bunch of buildings down at street level are busted up, I was watching at one of the windows for a while before I got paranoid and ran off to the living room instead, no windows in there.

ARE YOU INSANE?

Hey, I don't want to be here either, but Hector didn't want to leave. So...yeah, we're here.
It's pretty safe, I think, at least I'm trying to think so since he keeps telling me it is.
But I've never really had to deal with storms like this before so it is freaking me out some.

Freaked out worse about a few people in the city I know, since I have no idea what they're doing and if they ended up leaving with the other people or what. I hope so though, the weather is getting nasty and the worst of it is supposed to be in a few hours when all the waves start cresting or something.

Again, we are perfectly safe. I believe I have already proven that. I do hope you will keep that in mind and try to remain calm.

....you hit a window with a hammer.

I seriously doubt I'm going to drown up here, but still. I do not understand how nothing bothers you. Nothing.
I'll be sitting under the table in the dining room if you need me, just in case. Feel free to come sit with me, it's probably safer than standing around near the windows...like I'm sure you're doing.
Tempting fate...urgh...Hector, you worry me.

Yeah, well, plus it's other people I'm worried about too; our friends and all.

And did the window break when I struck it? You are needlessly worrying.

I'm sure your acquaintances have taken the necessary precautions, just as we have.

Hitting a window with a hammer sort of makes me worry more about you than it does the window.

I hope so. I'd feel better if I knew though, hopefully I will soon. Except for Zander and Corbin probably, it's harder to get in contact with them.
But I guess...vampires don't have to worry about drowning, heh.

I'm okay -- I don't live in lower Manhattan like you do. Hector's crazy for staying there. Did you guys at least sandbag the outside of your building or something? I'm surprised you still have power.

Did you hear that there was a tornado warning issued for Queens and Brooklyn? That's so crazy, thinking a tornado might happen there.

I'm sure Vince is okay -- he doesn't live in lower Manhattan either -- but I'll text him in a minute to make sure. Both Coney Island and Vampire Freaks are in possible flood areas, so he's screwed out of work, at least for a while, if flooding gets really bad.

I know you don't live there, but the weather is crazy; I don't know where people ended up with all the shuffling around and the evacuation stuff going on.

Yeah, we have power, and Hector keeps saying it's safe. But crazy weather...urgh.
And don't say that...I don't need more anxiety material.

Oh, yeah...that's not good. I hope everything doesn't get smashed up by the storms; they're saying now that the subways will be down for a while with the flooding and they might not be letting people go back to where all the water is still standing tomorrow.

...what's this about windows up there? Was Hector really paranoid enough to install bullet-proof windows or something in you guys' building? I guess that makes me feel a little more at ease.

So many people rely on the subway to get around, so this is really going to be a hassle. I hope we don't get any storm-related deaths in the city at least.

Yup, we have security like crazy here, could probably survive the end of the world, heh. I'd rather not test that theory though.
The storms just freak me out.

It's going to be a mess and a lot of people are going to be frustrated, like the mood of a lot of people in the city isn't intense enough already. I'm not sure how people are going to manage if they don't have a car; some people commute or whatever.
I'm guessing I'll be stuck inside anyway until everything is cleaned up so I'll have to watch what's going on, TV or whatever.

You better stay out of all that mess for a while too.
