Wikipedia says Pennsylvania, not Phillie. I'd be surprised if it was actually in a city, considering it's not supposed to be set in any modern Western city. Still, if you could get near the set (or be an extra for a day!) that would be awesome.

I'm a bit worried about the live action Avatar movies themselves. I just am not sure how it's going to translate to live action. It could easily be so cheesy! And I haven't liked anything M. Night Shyamalan has done since the Sixth Sense. He has the annoying tendency of making his actors talk all in whispers. However, I do look forward to anything Avatar, even if I'm a bit apprehensive about the possible result.

My guess is forest scenes or somewhere indoors where they can build a set. I'm not really sure what the actual CITY would have to do with Avatar, but it gets rural pretty quickly outside Philly. Once I figure out where they are, I'm definitely heading down for both movies. I can be a random Fire Nation peasant! Or someone from Kiyoshi Island!

Signs is actually the only Shyamalan movie I've seen. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't brilliant either. I think he would have to work hard to take the yelling out of Avatar, though *l* Does Sokka EVER whisper? Even when he thinks he's quiet . . . he's not.

I asked Josh about the reason, and he just emailed me back: M. Night Shyamalan is a Philly native, and there are currently two production studios being built near the city. So, I guess he's giving some business to his hometown. I'll try everything I can to get in!! I know it won't happen, but I kinda want the actual voice of Zuko, Dante Basco, to play him. For one, he would sound weird with a different voice, and two--he's freaking hot. I had such a crush on Rufio back in the day. Unfortunately, he looks nothing like Zuko. Sigh.

I think the most difficult part is finding an 8 year old kid that can play the role of Aang effectively.

Not to mention Sokka. . .who will they find that can be Sokka?
