Another letter, another dosage of the same lines. That's what he thought as he ripped the letter that had recently arrived, just like he had done so many times before. Another trip with her new husband, another query on whether he'd like to join them... Really, he was staring to wonder if she thought he was some sort of idiot. With a frustrated ( Read more... )

Boarding schools should be called boring schools, Nina decided, kicking at the ground outside the dorms. Why the heck had Dan dragged her along to whatever meeting he had to go to, but left her waiting for him on her own? Sure, she could have had tea with someone's son, but he had looked so stuck up that she decided to have her own fun outside. But the sky was grey and the ground was damp from melting snow, so there was nothing to play and no one to play it with. She was ready to pounce on the next person she saw, if anyone, when Marion left the dorm. He looked so downtrodden -- well, geez, it wasn't that boring here -- that Nina decided she would cheer him up if it killed her.

She skipped up to him, waving her arms. "Hey! Cheer up, kid!" she called, as if she were older than him and not just a nosy twelve-year-old.

[I thought about using Jules, but.. nah, have a little brat. ♥ She's originally from the future, but I spontaneously AU'ed her into Marion's world.]

The unfamiliar voice surprised him, making him stop on his tracks to look for the source. He was even more surprised when he realised that it came from a young girl. He wondered where she'd come from. She certainly wasn't a student, this being an all boys school... Perhaps a relative of one of the other students, or maybe even one of the teachers?

Anyway, rude as her introduction had been, it wouldn't hurt talking to her. Putting his previously foul mood aside, he smiled at her.

"Well, hello. I don't think we've met," he said.

[Yay brats! Also, feel free to smack me for anything I do wrong!]

Oh, he was smiling now~ this might be easier than she had expected it to be. Then again, someone changing their mood so fast was usually faking it... but in any case, this was clearly a case worth pursuing.

"Nope!" she giggled a bit. "My name's Nina, and I'm visiting with my boyfriend," she continued, clearly very proud of the last bit of that sentence in particular. "What's your name?"

Boyfriend? Wasn't she a little young for that? And why would someone bring his girlfriend along to visit a school? He'd have to look into that during their chat.

"My name is Marion Fiesse. Nice to meet you, Nina."
