Locked out in your pajamas in that sort of weather? Sometimes I wonder about you.

I would have been banging on that door. Dignity be damned, I don't want to be an icicle!

Once I started really getting into the shoveling, I was actually not cold at all -- it almost seemed like an attitude thing.

Congrats!

And this piece? This was just awesome. An awesome strength and view, and vitality in this piece. I loved each and every word and felt as if I was seeing into a part of you.

I heart you.

Good luck, Jacques, sincerely.

I grabbed a snow shovel and -- in my pajama pants, coat, and t-shirt -- shoved my snow-covered door open to reveal the frigid white wilderness beyond ( ... )

I'd be happy if I could just break even with who I was six years ago.

I didn't know you six years ago, but I have read your journal from that time. I think you have surpassed who you were back then in huge ways.

You have a steady job, plus have work on the side which is coming along amazingly!

You have Jessi, and a wonderful future to look forward to together!

Babe, you are handling your depression without the need for meds. I know it's hard at times, but you push through it and come out stronger each time.

You are making new friends, and getting out and doing things you probably didn't think you would ever do six years ago.

The other things you want back the way you had them six years ago- being fit and at a weight you are happy with, for example, will come. You are working on those, and I know will get there!

Six years ago, I was teaching in Creston. I wasn't suicidal, and I weighed 50 pounds less than I do now. I was in less debt, and I was doing what I wanted to do with my life.

It's funny, because my body's whining was just that -- whining. I wasn't very sore the next day, and it was just snow, you know?

Taking on a big challenge like that is really fun -- I wish I had neighbors like yours to give it that extra edge. :-) We were beaten by our entire neighborhood. Everyone else had snow throwers.

What kind of things will you do when you go out into the community?

In a case like this, you will only get the effort you put inm -- or less. That will ultimately be exhausting.
