IUDs always weirded me out. And my boyfriend is uncircumcised which means he is very sensitive on the head of his penis and so I was worried about the effect of the "fishing line" that comes down out of the IUD. I think it would irritate him.

I would suggest checking out the birthcontrol community on LJ--they rock and have a great memory section. those ladies know EVERYTHING.

Why would IUD cause weight gain? Aren't they non-hormonal? Well I guess some versions are hormonal and some aren't. Why would a non-hormonal BC cause weight gain?

well, one type is hormonal, the other is not. the one that isn't is an old version that involves copper.

also, from what i understand, the tiny string that comes down isn't something your boyfriend would feel during sex.

Not at all. I think it's rare, but sometimes partners can feel them, but I've never had that happen.
