L'étoile du matin

I call the dress the Morning star because crystal beads sparkle like morning dew drops on the flowers.

Loro Piana Exodus silk yarn 1500m/100g, 3 strands united = 500m/100g, 1kg, hook 2.25mm + 300 crystal beads.

The dress consists of about 1000 flowers: 100 big, 200 shamrocks, 230 medium, 470 small. All flowers are sewn together. The most boring part in making the dress is hiding ends. These ends are everywhere: beginning if a flower, end of a flower, sewing flowers in a lot of points… They made me mad sometimes. I want to see the result but all that I can see is ends only =)

I dyed crepe silk from @mashe_shop for underdress. I got lilac acid dye that made my silk too red. Then I tried periwinkle. It seemed to me that it made right color. Of course I tried on small pieces with small amount of acid dye. Then I dipped whole piece of silk into periwinkle. It became too blue and did not fit my yarn color. It was a shock. Lucky me I dyed whole piece with light periwinkle color. So next day I decided to mix lilac and periwinkle. It made exactly the color of my yarn. Such a relief!
