I really liked this - and it worked fine with no knowledge at all of "Sharpe" too - they do sound interesting characters, though! Perhaps I should check it out some time...

Oooh, I'm glad to hear that it actually does make sense if you've got no idea who these people are.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the TV series, especially if you have any affection at all for Sean Bean. Jack, sadly, is only around for one episode, but I kind of fell for him anyway...

I'm glad you enjoyed it despite lack of knowledge of two of the characters :D
