walk in the woods
I took a walk today in the woods in between the afternoon rain and the night rain. It was pleasantly approaching dusk, with the humidity rising and the insects emerging, frantically chirping their mating songs so they wouldn't have to sleep alone

you should come to my house one day so we can go down to one of the many creeks, and we can all take off our shoes and wade in the water and say hello to the minnows with our toes, and watch as the sun descends above us. there is one path somewhere near my house-- although i don't know how justified i am in saying that, as we walked a good distance before we got there-- off the regular bike path, this path is a deer path, that leads to a little island surrounded by trees, and at this time of year there is a stretch of giant skunk cabbage that makes you feel like you are descending into wonderland. the woods are always a place where you can go and have magic bloom in your footsteps.
(sorry for the lack of capitalization; i lose certain unnecessary motor skills after midnight, i think)
