This is really useful info for anyone doing freelance work (in many fields, actually; my husband does this kind of tracking for videography) or considering doing costume or seamstress for hire work. Don't know if a tag like "freelance" would be relevant for your audience, but I'd definitely recommend folks to this post! Super-useful, & I think ppl starting out don't realize it often enough.

I'm so glad to hear that! In general, the positive response to these posts is so gratifying--i had considered just printing all this out and handing it to my students, but then, duh, that's what this blog is for, putting info out there that's otherwise hard to find or learn.

by following links posted in the steamfashion lj, I found your design for a full-length apron that will fit the female form. As a preservation bookbinder, painter, and all-around mess maker with a need to look fabulous, this is inspiring! Thank you for posting your pattern & describing the technique. I hope to make a version of it (simplified to my miniscule level of sewing skill)

It's so exciting to me how popular that design has become, all across various trades. Please take pix of yours when you are finished, i'd love to see it!
