CAD Programs: Gerber Pattern Drafting/Cutting and Lectra Kaledo

Looking over the past few posts, i seem to be on a real kick of "crazycraft" interspersed with "computers and costuming"! After all those symposium creature posts, here's another computer-related one.

My God. I'm totally in awe!! Or in love! I so wish this were accessible for the home sewer. Perhaps one day...

Yes, it'd be great if they had some kind of domestic version of all this, maybe just the software with retail printing/cutting stations, so you could do your pattern manips, then send the files to the store where you got the software (or to somewhere like Jo-Ann) to have them printed or cut for you.

BTW, congrats on TWO of your bustle gowns making it to the final round in that bustledress.com contest!

I have been using a CAD program for drafting and marker layout for about 6 months now, and love it! I could take the marked up pattern sheet digitally to any print shop to have it printed out on a plotter (although I just print it out on a4 and sticky tape it together) - how fabulous it would be to visit the print shop and get the cutting done too.
