This is an absolutely fantastic article about fan fiction. Well worth reading for both authors and readers.

Isn't it great! The author had the sense to set up a private LJ to question fandom, so the input is probably the best since Henry Jenkins did his research pre-internet.

Thanks for the 'heads up' on a well written, humorous article that seems to present both the fan and author positions without really taking sides. It's quite nice to see someone give credit to the fanfic authors as being imaginative, as well as responsible about warnings for touchy or explicit subjects, rather than portraying them all as some sort of crackpot.

However, my keyboard may never be the same after reading "The same site (FanFiction) also has 87 examples of Tetris fan fiction, which are a showcase for the resourcefulness of writers spinning stories from the thinnest of threads: "L-block has just found out that his life partner, Square block, was cheating on him with his brother, Inverse L-block ..." LOL, okay...maybe there are one or two crackpot writers out there with a wicked sense of humor!

thanks for sharing, its awsome to read an article about something we have had the pleasure of writting or read someone else's writting. I think with pottermore its going to get bigger, but to know that like the music quote says "I was counrty when country wasn't cool". To know that I was involved in this community before it got mainstream, and to know that jk gives her blessing for others to play with her world. ( i knew before hand, but to see in print-cool)

its awsome....Thank you again.
