30 августа 1968 года вышел сингл Мэри Хопкин "Those Were the Days". А 25 сентября 1968 года в первый и пока единственный раз британский хит-парад на 6 недель возглавила русская песня - спродюсированная Полом Маккартни и исполненная Мэри Хопкин (Mary Hopkin) англоязычная версия старинного романса "Дорогой длинною" под названием "Those Were the Days".
