Iian texted me on my cell phone yesterday asking if I wanted to watch the European Cup at the Abbey Pub on South Clerk Street. Hee, hee. Cell phones are cool. :) I went and had a really good time. Strictly speaking, since your phone was bought in the United Kingdom and operates on a UK network, it is in fact a MOBILE phone.

Dress shoes? Pah!

Check out charity shops for shoes I'd say - don't go wasting money on new ones just for a job.

Must have been nice to get an ego-boost from that girl. I'd privatise this entry though, 'cause if she ends up reading it, I wouldn't want to be you!

Thanks for the tip about shoes. I went around to a few charity shops this afternoon, but all I could find was a few singles and sizes that were too small. I eventually found something for £20 in the second-hand section at the GAP. A little more than I wanted to spend, but oh well. Sometimes you have to invest a little when starting a new job. I love the GAP. Good quality. Cheap price.

Ego-boost... well, maybe. I think she was a little more flattered than I was that someone was paying her any attention beyond the physical.

I'd heard in the past that they were involved with overseas sweatshops - getting kids to sew their clothes for pennies in undeveloped countries. From Googling "Gap ethical" online though, it looks like they've cleaned up their act a bit.
