Yes she's am air-head alright. She kicked up such a racket when she went to the nesting box and found no eggs there. That's why I had to move them over for her.
They're very cute! My brother and SIL just bought a 20 acre farm last month, and they're planning on getting chickens and, I think, goats. It'll be fun to visit!
Thanks! I'll send them on! They want the kind of chicken that's all white fluffy feathers. I don't know what they're called, but I think they look like a Snowball, a coconut covered cupcake thing. :-)
leaving her eggs behind, she's definately going to be called Buffy *laughs* Wonderful. I was hoping for a bit of commentary on the videos, just to hear your voice, but that's okay. It looks like a very well designed coop.
Maybe next time, but I'm a bit shy and after that flu bug I'm also still a bit hoarse and croaky. We'll see how brave I get.
I looked for chicken coop designs on the internet. The neighbour I got them from is big on concrete floors and sweeping out the poop, but another neighbour up the road is hugh on sustainability and she voted for this style, and I liked the idea too.
It's just a sectioned off part of the woodshed, we've been using it for scrappy bushwood and storing oddments, so it got a clearing out and then a total fox-proofing (digging trenches and putting up wire mesh everywhere) and slowly it turned into a coop. I'll be happier when I can let them roam around the garden during the day.

The chooks seem to enjoy it, scratching around.
