Sounds like a cool recipe, as well as an excuse to buy some garlic and roast it, just to have roasted garlic on hand.
My cold-remedy soup always needs spinach as well as garlic and galangal. Other people's body chemistry will differ 8)
Scarce supplies have driven me to stocking up on Coconut Ginger Soup paste when I go to Fairway Market in Manhattan. Let me know if you need a packet or two.
You can never have enough roasted garlic. If you are ever in San Francisco, head over to The Stinking Rose. All garlic, all the time, in seemingly endless variations. Alex introduced me to the place when I was there in January of 2012.
Better with Coconut Milkla_peregrinaMay 23 2013, 23:37:23 UTC
I made one more batch of this stuff, but with coconut milk. It's actually better! I don't like coconut milk by itself, but combining it with the onions, garlic, cayenne, thyme, and ginger makes this a lovely little germ killer and vamp repellent.
