it seems there will need to be many AUs - this is a great idea and I hope you still do something with it. There's always sorting through the rubble.

Well, since it's the Room of Requirement ... couldn't it, theoretically, regenerate everything that burned? I'm not talking resurrection here: of course, Crabbe (or Goyle ... er, I can't remember, either) would still be dead, but his body could be restored. Maybe?

And another thing that bothered me about that- JKR should have planted this Fiendfyre stuff, and the fact that it destroys Horcruxes, earlier. As is, it smacks of deus ex machina. (If it's so destructive, how come *adult* Death Eaters never use it?)
