1. Why do you prefer LJ over other blogging/social networking sites?
I really adore the connectivity that comms allow for, and the space for fandomish pursuits as well as personal ramblings!
2. How frequently do you post?
No less than once a week, I should think. When school or RL gets too hectic, I sometimes have to disappear for longer periods of time though.
3. How would you describe your writing style? (verbose, short-and-sweet)
I'm rather painfully addicted to the roman numeral style of point-blogging, because I usually post later in the evening when I'm too tired to string thoughts together! I can get pretty verbose within that and in the more lengthy style of posting as well though.
4. How would you describe your journal's content? What are your interests outside of fandom?I post snippets about my life and its goings-ons, usually with dashes of fandom involved. I talk a lot about the movies/books/music in my life as well. Outside of fandom, I'm also a ( ... )

The way you described your writing style resonated with me, mostly because that's how I write. I tend to do the wordy bullet point thing with the occasional descent into CAPSLOCKS FLAIL madness. Plus, Doctor Who, The Office, and Austen? Care to be friends?

I liked your answer about why you like LJ! I like Tumblr and Twitter well enough, but for me they don't allow for the variety of posting that LJ does.

Hee! I find it's such a nice way to organize thoughts into semi-coherence, especially when you feel yourself on the verge of CAPSLOCK FLAIL :D.

Oh yes, I'd love to be friends! ♥

I definitely agree; with LJ it can serve pretty much whatever purpose you want, while with others it can be somewhat limiting :P. I do love Tumblr though! I spend hours ogling at all the pretty pictures I find on there 8D.

I do enjoy Tumblr for The Pretty but sometimes I like there to be some analysis with my picspams.

Consider yourself added!

1. Why do you prefer LJ over other blogging/social networking sites? Probably because it was my first one. I don't have a facebook anymore and I use my Tumblr to spam pictures and forget about my Twitter sometimes. I like that it has a lot of little insights into people's lives.
2. How frequently do you post? At least twice a week; sometimes every day sometimes not. It depends on my mood.
3. How would you describe your writing style? (verbose, short-and-sweet) Probably a little verbose more often than not. I approach it like I am telling a story (which I am). I give details and I like people to understand the underlying humour in things. It just tends to get rolling.
4. How would you describe your journal's content? What are your interests outside of fandom? A lot of it is personal based. I talk about music (a lot) or hockey or random things that get me started. It tends to be varied, either talking about what is going ( ... )

It isn't a party unless Zaphod crashes and steals a girl from someone else. And yes I have totally thought about this more than I should.

Your dinner party is pretty much my new favourite thing. I want to go to there. And anyone who lists "alice-fell-down-the-rabbithole", "flat-worlds-on-the-back-of-turtles", "fighting zombies w/cricket bats" is pretty much made of win. You seem interesting! Care to be friends?

1. Why do you prefer LJ over other blogging/social networking sites? Quality of contribution. On Twitter you get 140 characters that are often nonsense or unintelligible hashtags. On Facebook you get infuriating updates about Farmville. On Tumblr you get uncaptioned photos. On LiveJournal, you're more likely to get interesting original content and actual personal connection.
2. How frequently do you post? Depends. It was once a week earlier this year, but now it's back to every other day or so.
3. How would you describe your writing style? (verbose, short-and-sweet) Over-laden with adverbs I usually don't do traditional "And today, dear LJ, I..." entries. Most of my posts are the result of my being irritated or impassioned or interested to the extent that I simply must share!
4. How would you describe your journal's content? What are your interests outside of fandom? I'm intensely involved in literature, music (ask ( ... )

On Facebook you get infuriating updates about Farmville.

The ability to block applications is the single greatest thing Facebook has ever done (eliminating applications all together would be preferable, but it's the next best thing).

I also recently got rid of my copy of The DaVinci Code (AND Angels and Demons). My bookshelf feels classier without it.

Yeah, I've long since blocked Farmville, but since I joined to humor a friend who begged me to be her neighbor so she could get a bigger farm, I still get from 20-50 gift requests per week. And then there's the fifteen or twenty new applications that appear every week and have to be blocked individually.

I was just thinking that I should pare my books a little more. I have a Grisham and a copy of The Nanny Diaries that need to go.

1. Why do you prefer LJ over other blogging/social networking sites? I love the level of interaction LJ allows - I feel you can really get to know people here, and people are very generous with how they share their lives. I've also found a greater concentration of artistic and creative people here, which I really like.
2. How frequently do you post? Couple of times a week, normally. But I'm a big commenter.
3. How would you describe your writing style? (verbose, short-and-sweet) Depends on my mood. Sometimes I write essays, sometimes a list.
4. How would you describe your journal's content? What are your interests outside of fandom? I'm a pop culture vulture, so mostly I post about music (top tens up for discussion, recs), film and TV I'm into (mostly British cult and indie). I also post a fair bit about writing and my endless search for kitsch items to decorate my flat with.
5. What are you looking for in an LJ friend? Someone who posts ( ... )

I can guarantee that I'll post interesting stuff on an almost daily basis. (Just ask zombie_boogie, bwahahah!

We're also huge about all things: British, writing, Doctor Who, and Oscar Wilde. And your dream vacation? Sounds an awful lot like the imaginary Geek Manor I've made up with some of my Flist. :D

Friendsies?

I definitely agree with you about why we prefer LJ - I feel like the lovely people on here and their artistic pursuits have really expanded my perspective on many things :).

I adore all things Doctor Who and British music/film/tv, as well as a good mushroom risotto! Friends?

1. Why do you prefer LJ over other blogging/social networking sites? I like that you can post anything here, and the social interactions are so much more personal. You can control who sees your posts in detail, you can customize your layout... but most of all, I made some really good friends here. I use the other networking sites to interact more with people I've already befriended on LJ, not to find new people.
2. How frequently do you post? It varies... sometimes everyday, sometimes I can go 7 to 10 days without posting.
3. How would you describe your writing style? (verbose, short-and-sweet) It depends. Sometimes when I go without posting for a while I will write a long entry with bullet points and LJ-cuts. Or I can also post just a paragraph.
4. How would you describe your journal's content? What are your interests outside of fandom? My journal is a mix of fandom and RL. Outside of fandom I like traveling, horse-riding, ( ... )
