Inside, Rinzler would find darkness. Light from outside illuminated only the beginning of the Place, with sand-colored bricks in the floor. The walls could not be seen, just the rectangle of light from the doorway, and at its very end, standing halfway in the darkness, was Dark Yuugi himself.

"It's been some time since this room has had a visitor." He stared Rinzler down with a confident smirk. "If you're brave enough, then enter. But beware. If you do, a game awaits you."

Well. So much for doing things quietly.

Red-orange circuits relit, the corrupted rumble rippling out across the space between. The program's mask tilted. This wasn't what he'd expected. He'd intended surveillance, exploration, long before he made any open move.

But this user wanted to play? Rinzler would hardly refuse a challenge.

And he never lost.

The helmet dipped slightly, noise faintly edged with his own ready confidence. He moved forward.

The dim light from the outside would show a few details of the area once Rinzler was inside. A couple of pillars, the wall over the door, and so forth, all had ancient, worn-looking heiroglyphs on them. They had faded over time, but were still quite prominent.

Yuugi held up a hand.

"Before we begin, I have one question. Why are you here?"

This problem, Rinzler had anticipated. Not so quickly-the user hadn't been supposed to notice his presence for some time. But he'd prepared nonetheless.

The program couldn't speak. For this, he couldn't use the PORTALs. The ticking rumble shifted with faint irritation at the situation as the program glanced around. He turned finally to one of the nearer pillars and reached out, producing an object that was... strangely incongruous. Small. White.

A piece of chalk.

He picked a spot relatively free of carvings, and marked out a response.

Prior to answer. Request: deactivate PORTAL device, remove from proximity.
