[She freezes up for just a second as that hit comes in. She wants to protect herself with ki, but is having to force herself to stop. So she takes that hit, and that hurt. However, she's going to try to stop him from getting away, aiming a palm thrust for the solar plexus.]

[Something's... off about her reaction. He backs up to get away from the hit to try and soften the blow a little but it still connects.

Tim does a flip backwards, putting more space in between them.]

Is that all you can do...? Baguazhang? [He's not 100 percent sure if that's the right style but that's his guess.]

[In response, she shifts stances, holding out her arms with her fists curled, thumbs curled alongside the fist; a trait unique to Southern Dragon kung-fu. She then promptly aims a hammer blow to his elbow.]

Fast forwarding a bit with permission!

[Tim lets out a little laugh, actually finding himself enjoying this. He slips out of the way and lunges forward for another attack. They trade blows for awhile and neither of them is a push over for the other.]

Is that the best you've got? [His tone suggest he isn't taunting, per say. He just doesn't want her to hold back.]

[Mei is many things. Kung-fu jesus, for one, and a very sweet, honest girl, for another. What she is not, however, is a good liar.]

... Y- Yes! It is!

[... which means that that was pretty goddamn obvious.]

[Tim raises an eyebrow in slight amusement.] I may not have any powers myself but I've taken people out who have them. You don't have to hold back. Come on, make it a real challenge for me.

[He's goading her but he doesn't want it to be easy, or even hard. If he wants to improve, he wants difficult.]

A- Are you certain? I don't want to accidentally hurt you...

[detectivegenius]

Trust me, it takes a lot to hurt me. [... Well okay so it doesn't take a lot to hurt him but it does take quite a bit to get him to stay down.]

[Her stance shifts ever so slightly, and she uncurls her fists as though she intends to claw at him.

Which she does. She lunges forward, slashing at him with several-inch-long invisible claws from the back of her hands.]
