There's no such thing as magic back in her world, not really. The 'gods' have been revealed -- to her, Lucy, Desmond, and Shaun, at least -- as false, as beings of a different race who came to this planet and created them and then died off. The Apple of Eden -- really, all the Pieces of Eden -- can do amazing things, but Rebecca still isn't sure if it's magic or just incredibly advanced technology. After all, even the Animus's designs are based on the technology of Those Who Came Before, and she is pretty sure it isn't magic ( ... )

Braska will be found standing under a tree that has grown on top of a slight hill, staring over at the nearby ocean. It's still strange for him to see it and know there is no Sin lurking somewhere within. He knows that is a Spira that Yuna and her friends now live in, and he thinks it is likely that they find it just as strange as he does.

It's during these moments that it really strikes him that this is a world that has never been touched by Sin. Those responsible for keeping the city safe think they have whatever horrors are chained there under control. Braska believes this is a mistake. It is their arrogance that will ( ... )

Unlike Braska, the basis of Rebecca's life is a secret even back on her world. Not many people know of the Assassins or the Templars; at least, they don't know of their true purpose or goals, knowing them only as organizations in history books (history books that were carefully written, and almost always by Templars). They know nothing of Pieces of Eden, of Those Who Came Before and the catastrophe that could befall their world if the Assassins can't stop it, or of the Templars' drive to control free will in order to 'make the world a better place ( ... )

"Ah..." Braska turns at Ollie's bark and offers the dog and his owner a gentle smile. "Yes, it truly is. Bowen says there is a movie theater by the ocean. The concept of stories being filmed sounds wonderful. I shall have to check it out soon..."

He kneels down to pet Ollie. "Hello, there. It's good to meet you. Oooh, you're so soft, yes you are~!"
