Well that was interesting, she'd have to make a note to ask about the gun later on though--not when she was being hugged out of the blue.

She blinked, surprised at first by the sudden embrace, but eventually raising her arms up to return it. Affections were handed out fairly easily with her, well, hugging and the like. Anything else was rather alien, "Doesn't everyone think that...?" no, probably not. "I'd miss you, too, you know! And Kanji and Souji and Harry and Dawn--" and a bunch of other people that she probably shouldn't list off obnoxiously. "S-Sorry."

He chuckled at her list, gave her a squeeze before letting go and avoiding eye contact in embarrassment, though he couldn't really turn off his smile either. "I'd miss you too, yeah? Pretty sure 'lotta people would."

She could have kept going, but for now she tried to keep from bothering him. Though he seemed a bit happier than he usually did,

"Well I hope they don't miss me too much, then they might get sad." She shook her head, knowing she should probably change the subject, "You made a lot of friends here too, right?"

"Some, yeah." For some reason his brain sent the signal to back off, move away, shrink into the corner and be his prickly self again, but Ladon found he couldn't. He just hung by, hands in his pockets and scuffing the ground with one foot. "Miss m'friends back home. Ain't the same without 'em. Need Draig 'round t'play the piano at the club an' act like an idiot now an' then."

Mixed signals; he was giving off a lot of those right now. It seemed to be common with people at this party...but Lior was trying to think on the bright side and not linger on things that had happened previously,

"Everyone misses their friends back home, but it wouldn't be so bad if they showed up here, right? Especially since you have your club here, too!" she offered another smile, "Or maybe you can just find someone here to be the temporary replacement~!"

"Would like t'have my li'l brother here. Easier t'look after 'im if he was here."

He'd feel a lot more comfortable curling up and cuddling with Conrit than with anyone else here, anyway. Though that would possibly confuse the poor hatchling, since he'd just gotten used to how cold and distant his older brother had become over the past ten years.

"Maybe he'll show up?" She shrugged, smiling brightly up at him. While she wasn't entirely sure what to say to that, she could always just go with the obvious optimism. Couldn't hurt, right?

"It's funny...I'm use to having a big, cranky dragon with me, but...sometimes I think it's better that he's back home, you know?"

Somehow Lior had managed to escape the ballroom and the inside of the palace in general long enough to make her way outside. Admittingly, she was lost, but that was nothing new, really. Either she'd find Kanji by the end of the night or he'd find her so she wasn't all that worried.

She was clad in her white and blue dress she had taken ages to pick out and was out by the gardens. She was thankful there were so many people around--but this really wasn't somewhere she wanted to be after her previous experience. So she was a little hesitant, but for the most part, busy socialising with anyone she may have recognised.

On her inattentive strolling around the premises, Rukia finds a massive glass door in the bank of tall windows and slips through it and out into the gardens. Her brother's property back home was diligently attended to by groundskeepers, the groves of sakura trees artfully arranged around the compound and the koi ponds constantly restocked as someone seemed to enjoy poaching her brother's prized fish. But this was different. The sculpted hedges, the gazebos and manicured terraces and fountains were lovely in the moonlight.

"Hello," she greeted to the back of the figure as she wandered onto a balcony of white marble that overlooked a long slope of rose bushes and a grand fountain.

Lior heard the other girl approaching, but thought nothing of it until she was greeted outright. It was then that she turned to face Rukia, noting how pretty she looked in that dress and smiling brightly at her.

"Hello!" She said in that usual chipper tone, fiddling with her dress a little, "Are you enjoying the party?"

"Its very interesting," she replied with a smile. "Attending a party thrown by a goddess isn't something I imagined myself doing when I arrived here." Leaning against a cool stone railing, Rukia watched shapes wander through the terraces, snuggling into private nooks and pavilions.

"It is. I didn't think there were so many people here..." in the city that is. She laughed though, "W-Well I don't think anyone expected that!" it could have been much worse though.

"I don't think we've met, have we? I'm Lioriley."

Shaking her head, she turned to the girl, the strange lines of light etched into her skin glowing ethereally in the night air. It was odd to see - it sort of reminded her of Renji's tattoos, which was immediately coupled with a pang of homesickness and longing - but it was beautiful.

"No, I don't think we have. I'm Kuchiki Rukia."

She offered another smile, and when her lips curled upward the etchings there brightened just a little bit. "It's nice to meet you, Rukia!" what a weird name, but she wasn't one to talk now was she? She offered a hand out for the other woman to take, "Do you have any friends here?" this seemed like a standard question with Lior.

"Pleasure to meet you as well." Rukia accepted the proffered hand and shook it. Ha! She did remember some human customs after all! Seeing Lioriley smile and her lines brighten even further made the shinigami grin wider in return. The play of turquoise light on dark skin was fascinating, especially since it seemed that the lines traveled all over her body. Maybe she should sketch it out later...

"Oh, I came to the party with a friend, but he had to leave. Blaine-san, if you know him."
