Suspicious just about summed March up. Suspicious about this city, about the people, about the sun in the sky and whether or not it was real. So what March was not doing was relaxing happily on a nice day. Instead, he was exploring the city.

Not in the hope that he would find a sewer gate with 'exit here' marked in graffiti, but because it was safer than staying in one spot. Rather sneakily, too.

At least until something happened, and he stumbled on the street, hand to his chest and shaking with a rush of adrenaline--

But nothing was attacking him.

"...I hate this city."

This was the second time in a short period that Angela had been caught by surprise. Thankfully the results weren't as grave this time around, just a surge of-- something. It was like being hit by a spell of some sort, but without the burning, the pain, the revolt of the life force inside you as it twists to the will of another.

Just an odd feeling-- like things were suddenly more vivid, more palpable, more real and she wanted to engage all of it. A feeling she thought she'd never feel in this city now that she knew what it was capable of. But right now it didn't matter.

What mattered was pouncing on the shoulders of a guy she probably would've normally snubbed, or sassed, or possibly even socked. She gave March an affectionate squeeze, leaning on him from behind. "Hey there, grumpy."

Several thoughts occurred to March in a very short span of time, the instant of the pounce, and most of them involved how he could kill whoever was attacking him. Because after the mysterious non-attack, he was on edge, and because affection tended to be a foreign concept.

Normally, he would have done something involving knives, and mockery, but his chest felt too tight, and he was dizzy with something almost like sickness. Maybe it was a fever?

So, luckily for all parties involved, he did not turn around and try and slit Angela's throat, joining the drow in the annals of 'really bloody murders', but merely jumped forward and away from the woman and her sudden and horrifying attack.

"What?"

"I said~." Angela propped her hands on her hips, giving him a look of mock indignation, as opposed to actual, full-blown Angie indignation. "Hey there, grumpy. You've got a habit of standing in the middle of the street."

As soon as the announcement that Aphrodite had dispatched her minions for some sort of nefarious plan, Harry Dresden drew on years of combat against the supernatural to come up with a brilliant strategy to thwart the Goddess of Love's machinations ( ... )

Strictly speaking, there was absolutely no reason for Rebecca to be trying to find out where Harry Dresden, self-proclaimed wizard, lived. She didn't exactly have orders to investigate wizards, even wizards with a sense of humor and a dog that she wanted to cuddle.

That hadn't stopped her from trying, however, and after some research and a nice fall into a bush, Rebecca was fairly certain she found the place. She wasn't going to break in or anything (she had treats for the dog), but she had questions that she didn't particularly want to ask over the network. As far as she was aware, Harry was her best chance at helping Hope -- and besides, he was a wizard, and how cool was that?

She hadn't been expecting such a gorgeous woman to be outside his door, however. Rebecca couldn't see the man with the arrows, and since the woman was turning and heading toward her now, she had just missed seeing Harry get shot.

Blankly staring at the woman who apparently brought salutations from Aphrodite (and how had she missed that?), Rebecca took the ( ... )

Mouse heard her before Harry saw her, standing in his doorway, nursing a tingling, unnatural feeling that was threading its way up his arm. He growled and stalked back inside, leaving his door open. He saw the arrow buried in his hand just before it dissolved into a golden puff of sparkling motes that dusted over his skin. And the chubby-cheeked jerk had vanished in a flicker of light before he could do anything about it.

His stomach rolled, he hated being suckered into things like this. Who knew what kind of maddening, dangerous shenanigans a crazy goddess had pulled him into?

Then Mouse woofed softly and Harry turned around. His tail wagging, the mountain of fluff greeted the woman.

"Hey, Rebecca." He flashed her a quick smile and was glad that he'd shaved this morning. Still shaking his hand, he let it hang loose. "Whats up?"

The arrow hit its mark, right in her shoulder while Rebecca's back was turned to watch the woman leave. "Ow!" Rubbing at her arm with her free hand, she didn't think anything of it; it was probably just a bug or something. If she was actually under attack, she'd know it, right?

Shaking her head and rolling her arm to try and get the weird tingling to go away, Rebecca laughed and knelt down to greet Mouse better (despite how tall he already was), scratching him behind the ears. "I brought treats for you -- though you can probably tell."

Luckily, Mouse was still moving a bit, and therefore Rebecca had no urge to spout poetry at him... yet. Standing back up, she flashed Harry an answering grin, rubbing at her shoulder again. Man, that felt weird. "I decided to spoil your dog and bother you. Hope you don't mind." Pausing, she frowned slightly, stilling as she went over the events in the hallway again. "Also, I got a weird invitation from the chick outside your door. Oh, and I think something bit my arm..."

Kanji hadn't really been thinking about Valentine's Day coming up when he left the textile shop that morning; instead, he'd been thinking about whether or not Lior would be okay if he left her alone. He was getting restless, though, and it was nice enough outside, so out he'd gone (with his shield, of course, and promises not to get hurt or into trouble). For a while, everything seemed normal.

Then he turned a corner and was nearly shot by an arrow.

Reeling backward, he just barely managed to keep himself from falling. He couldn't see whoever was shooting at him, but he wasn't used to dealing with arrows, either -- especially ones with tips that looked like hearts. Either way, Kanji knew he didn't want to have anything to do with it, so he did what any teenage punk would do: he ran for it.

Oh this mortal can see them! Not fair! The erote pouted, then flapped his wings to pick up speed, his arrow at the ready. He was hunting Kanji and woe betide him if he failed to catch his quarry.

Aphrodite's temper was something to not prick if anyone wished to have a quiet day.

Oh no. No, no, no no no. He did not want to be followed by a strange little man with wings who was shooting at him.

Still running, holding his shield up to try and cover himself, Kanji took a quick turn down a nearby street. "Get lost!"

He was not strange, he was an erote, and he was going to get his man. And if his assumptions were correct about his man, well we won't go into that just yet.

Flying fast and low, dodging light poles and silly neon Hummers rolling down the streets, the erote attempted to get a bead on his quarry. He was being so difficult!

Dusk had not planned to go out and roam the streets initially. As she had been far too busy at the time watching as the cracks she couldn't fix normally had slowly disappeared on their own. Yet, when she had seen that little video of the woman and those robed people she couldn't really see any other choice in how her day would go.

Which was how she found herself just watching the slow bit of havoc being created by the odd humans now roaming about the city.

"Is it oft not common for arrows to be slung, but to do nothing of harm is quite the opposite."

The disappearing arrows were enough to have her pause in the middle of a street to contemplate this and not really pay attention to the going ons around her. Something that seemed alright to do as the winged ones seemed more intent in other targets then her.

Ladon had to take a moment to calm down, mostly to get his heart to stop trying to beat out of his chest. He almost didn't hear Dusk's voice, but thankfully looked up, seeing her there, that usual Dusk-like expression on her face. Ladon was starting to get used to it.

What he wasn't used to was noticing that, well. For a doll-like-person... she was really pretty.

Cough cough. Ladon cleared his throat, tugged his hat nervously. "Yeah. Sure as hell ain't normal."

She hadn't really been expecting anyone to notice her during all of this, but it wasn't all that hard to just smile and wave at Ladon. All before walking over to him and just staring at him.

"Events and happenings of unnatural make, but the culprit easy to implicate. However why and now simply unknown."

All while she's wondering just why you are acting odd from what you have acted before when she has been around.

Lucy had spent the morning running on the rooftops to train and was in the process of climbing down the building next to her house when a sharp jab of pain in her thigh made her lose her footing and pummeled down a few meters before she manage to grab a ledge to break her fall. Dangling there, she couldn't see what had just hit her (because she was sure something had embedded itself in her thigh) and she proceeded in quickly finding her way to the streets to inspect her leg. She couldn't find any blood, nor any proof that she had been hit and lightly frowned. This was certainly strange.

Catching something moving from the corner of her eyes, the blond turned sharply around, only to see flutters of white wings fly away. Had she just seen an angel?

Lucy was about to run after the winged messenger of love when she heard someone hailing her. Turning to her housemate, she nodded as she brushed off the dirt from her jeans:

"Yes, I think so." Maybe she just pricked herself on something sticking out of the wall she was climbing down? Giving the building another look, she couldn't see anything that could have hurt her. Looking back at Lavi, she tilted her head, knowing how crazy she was about to sound like, but she really needed to know if she was going insane or not:

"You wouldn't happened to have seen...an angel flying around here, would you?"
