Shaun didn't wait terribly long before he'd decided to make his way over to where Lucy and Rebecca were. He may have expressed the occasional sentiment of wanting to be away from them, it was only natural having been forced into their company for so long, but what could he say now? Their presence had become a constant and that in turn had made it into a comfort.

He had become dependent. How pathetic.

He didn't let the thought bother him too much though as he climbed the stairs to the fourth floor of House #5, his mind buzzing with all the things that he had to discuss with his team. This place was bizarre, strange, a complete anomaly, and yet it was also incredibly exciting. Despite his brush with death the night before he still found that his interest had not dampened and he had to consider that this also likely relied on the identity of the man who had nearly cut his throat open ( ... )

"Not what I was referring to! Of course it's a bit late to save them from the irritation of electronic channels flooded by the multimedia communication of dozens of the "concerned masses" but I would think it our responsibility to not, oh say, spoil their bloody futures for them. Depending on what point they hail from, and I can tell you that Malik was not full of love for his dear Brother, than I believe it wise not to blither on about their future one true bromance or Altaïr's role as the Brotherhoods's greatest rebel with a cause. Maybe you're right Rebecca, and it doesn't matter what they learn here, but as we're not sure of it yet I'd like not to risk it ( ... )

Watching Desmond while the others spoke, Rebecca frowned. She remembered his screaming during the night all too well -- the nightmares, the Bleeding Effect. As hard as she had worked on Baby, it was still there. Masking her frown with another bite of ice cream, she continued to listen, grinning again when Lucy agreed and gave them the green light to run around the city. Awesome.

"Their bromance, huh? But yeah... No details on their future would probably be good. Might have to tell them how we know things, though, as unbelievable as I'm sure it'll sound."

The mention of training had her grinning again, though. It had been a while, and while she loved technology, she missed the adrenaline rush that extreme sports and training had to offer. Shaun, of course, had to go and be a spoilsport.

"Aww, c'mon Shaun. Or are you worried that a girl is going to beat you up?" Rebecca, of course, was confident that she could, but beyond the teasing, she was worried about him. She'd had to save his life more than once already; in this city, ( ... )

Despite the frown, despite the wince, Desmond's answer to her concerns didn't surprised Lucy one bit. She knew he was hiding from her on much he was affected by the Bleeding Effect and she made a mental note to try and speak to the bartender in private about it. Maybe here, with no world to save with the Animus' help, he might open up a bit on how he felt and on what he was seeing ( ... )

"Did you all just call me fat?!" Shaun demanded, his eyes narrowing in annoyance and some shock. Since when was he the butt of all the jokes! He'd like to know what he'd done to deserve any of this and as for Rebecca's comment, of course the both of them could beat him up, he wasn't stupid! He also wasn't very bothered by it, since he knew he was also intellectually superior. The moral higher ground was his ( ... )

Snickering, Rebecca had to take a moment to calm down before speaking up again. "She totally just called you fat." Which, considering how Rebecca was the one eating a gallon of ice cream by herself, was a bit surprising... but hey, she'd offered, and it wasn't like she was going to eat all of it.

Unfortunately, she seemed to tune out at that point, only really getting 'tree frog' from Shaun's little rant -- probably because she'd heard him snap at Desmond so many times she simply knew when to stop listening. "I like tree frogs. They're pretty. And usually poisonous."

Uncertain whether or not Lucy was actually kidding, she simply shrugged. Mornings didn't really bother her, especially if the promised coffee would be there. "Whatever works."

Lucy rolled her eyes at Shaun: "I did not call you fat, Shaun. I'm just worried about your health. I thought you'd be flattered to know I cared that much" she said as she shook her head. Of course the historian had to jump to the wrong conclusion and act all offended by it ( ... )
