Rukia was out again, indulging a fit of wanderlust as she window shopped through the stores and little markets dotted along the backbone of the city. In one of Yuzu's dresses again, she stopped at a stall and handled a pear. It was past lunch time and since she had left the Kurosaki Clinic hours ago, her stomach rumbled in reminder that she had to eat sometimes ( ... )

Aphrodite paused, her forehead wrinkling in question as something unnameable came to her attention. She swept the crowds, her gaze coming to stop upon the slight girl eating a pear.

She moved through the crowd, people melting away from her path as she approached Rukia.

"Greetings, love." She said simply.

Little did Rukia know that the pear was sacred to Aphrodite and several other goddesses of her pantheon. Eating one in her presence was like setting up a signal flare for the fairest of the Olympians. As the goddess approached, Rukia lowered her arm and bent herself into a deep bow, the pears still in hand. A little twirl of nervousness spun in her stomach. Two goddesses in two days - Rukia wasn't sure if she were blessed or perhaps just the subject of obscene chance.

"Greetings, Megami-sama."

Aphrodite nodded in return her ego stroked by the obvious respect, "I see you're enjoying a pear, dearheart."

Pears were one of her fruits, yes, and anyone who enjoyed one was music to her ears, metaphorically speaking.

"I am Aphrodite, and you are-?"

Despite it all, there are some nice things in Promenade; not having the constant death induced migraines and grief was one and the shops had some very beautiful things, like the notebook she'd picked up, leatherbound and decorated, tucked under her arm. Even the mask was beginning to grow on her although she was always relieved to remove it, allowing her skin to breathe properly and well, it began to pinch around evening anyway.

She was examining something in a window when she caught the reflection and turned to see who it was and her mouth pinched itself into a frown; whoever the masked stranger was, she was stunning, radiant even and that definitely required closer inspection so she put on her best smile, smoothed invisible creases out of her navy blue dress and raised a hand as she approached.

"Excuse me?"

Aphrodite paused in surprise as she was hailed. Slowly turning, she waited, an eyebrow raised under her mask. Drat those things

"Yes?" She answered finally, assessing the girl clad in navy who was brave enough to hail her, Aphrodite.

The only Gods Shirley ever felt a pull to were her own, something she put down to the power associated with and so to her, until Aphrodite said her name, she was a merely a stunning looking woman.

A stunning woman who looked like she belonged in glossy high end fashion magazines.

"I had to compliment you on your dress," she said smoothly, adjusting her mask a little, "did you come here wearing it or did you find it here?"

"Ah, thank you, dearheart." She preened, the feathers on her mask swaying with each move.

"I found it actually." She rested her chin in one hand, thinking. "Or perhaps I just wished for a dress since I couldn't go out naked." Aphrodite shrugged then, a half-smile on her face.
