Deviled Eggs

Jul 27, 2007 15:27

I'm bringing deviled eggs to a family picnic tomorrow, anyone have some creative variations on the traditional mayo, mustard, salt & pepper?  I sometimes make mine with olives, pickles and dill but are there any other combinations I should try?

Mmmm...

A friend of ours made deviled eggs with some spicy sauce mixed in the other day and they were yuuuummmy! I suppose you could dress it up with a jalapeno pepper on top or something.

Oooh, thanks for the idea- we have some really flavorful, great hot sauce at home that would probably be perfect for that!

I make mine really "deviled" by adding some hotsauce to the egg mixture and using cayanne instead of paprika. I've also heard of slipping in a lil bit of ranch dressing mix with the mayo/yolk and topping with chopped/diced bacon and green onion. Made them at a party with caviar and baby shrimps and dill mixed in. The last one I know is using cream cheese stead of mayo and adding diced ham. My favorite is with the hotsauce though. :)
