For Momma, because she's curious.
This is the bus route, although I don't think we actually go the way it's drawn (I think Barrière Saint Genès is south of Barrière Judaïque, maybe) so that's kind of weird. To get to school, I get on the bus (line 9) at Barrière Judaïque and get off at Barrière Saint Genès. To go back home, it's the opposite - obviously.
At Barrière Saint Genès, I switch to the tram (line B) and stay on until Montaigne-Montesquieu.
* = I live there(ish)
A = Grand Théatre, downtown Bordeaux
B = Gare Saint Jean, the big train station to get to Paris
C = Barrière Saint Genès, my stop
D = Montaigne-Montesquieu, my other stop at the university
Bordeaux is not very big but it has a great public transportation system. Also, it's only a 20-30 minute walk from Gare Saint Jean to the Grand Théatre so it's very easy to get around on foot.
So that's where I live, more or less.
In other news, the biannual sales started yesterday and will last for about six weeks. There's a reason why sales only happen twice a year, but I can't remember what it is and I'm putting off homework right now so I don't have the time to look it up. Anyway, that's about a month of shopping and I plan on making the most of it. If I'm lucky, all of your gifts will be bought very soon. There may or may not be another trip to Paris on the 21st or 22nd to do more touristy things as well as shop, but we'll have to see.
Monsieur Prévôt-Leygonie wasn't home again so it was just Madame and me. She served a beef patty and fries. It was very American. After dinner, she showed me pictures of their house in the country and videos and pictures of her sons' weddings which were really interesting. Traditional French weddings are pretty. The women wore funny hats.
