I went to Armageddon yesterday, the big comic/gaming/geekfest that we have here in New Zealand. Half the day was spent ooing and aahing over all the pretty shinies. I managed to come away with a drinking horn and a cloak pin and successfully resist any rather large expenditures.

The other half was spent manning the NZ LARPs stand and people watching

Oh man, X-wing family sounds TOTALLY adorable.

Agree on the steampunk direction. I still look into it as the older stuff has the lovely "classical" look of long dresses and feminine blouses the not only fit but look pretty. But lately I've had to dig through more Gothic blacks and stockings, short skirts and what nots to find the real stuff. Still some good stuff though, so not totally ruined yet.

X-wing family were so adorable, but they come only a close second to the 6/7yr old brother and sister duo last year. Dr Who and a Weeping Angel. They were cute and they knew it!
