So...if you don't like Stephanie Meyer's books or if you like them, but don't mind poking fun at them, you should read this hilarious article:

In other news, I am not at all impressed with this season's offerings of anime. If anyone has started watching a new series that they like (and isn't based on an eroge or h- ( Read more... )

I love Cracked, and now feel completely justified by not reading those books. I regret the friends I had to kill upon finding out that they had read them and enjoyed them... No one will find their bodies.

Good luck on the job search!

Haha...I didn't read them either but I watched the movie, and was like...what the hell?! So, now I feel justified about not reading the books...I feel sort of bad for being so entertained by the criticism without even reading the books, but whatever. Plus I'm being a huge hypocrite because my old writing blows (just reread it) but whatever, I'm not a published author. Ha. Still writing though...just...secretly!

Hey, don't think so bad of yourself! If that tripe can get picked up by a publishing house...

I was interested in seeing the movie after a few people went to it for laughs and said that based upon what they'd read in the books, it cut out a lot of the stupidity and was tolerable, until I saw a clip. I saw the clip parodied in my icon, and knew that nothing would ever get me into that theater. Nothing!

Haha...strangely enough, it was the BOYS with us that actually liked the movie. I was like, WTH?! But anyway. Yeah, I've been secretly working on my writing...been fun, maybe it'll get me somewhere someday. But for now, I'm really into teaching. Hopefully will get a permanent position at the University in the fall. *crosses fingers*

Ha ha... for some reason everyone LOVES the books. I haven't read them, and I'm refusing to do so. I really couldn't anyway, after reading the reviews. If you're even tempted by the movie you should read "If 'Twilight' Was 10 Times Shorter And 100 Times More Honest" at http://www.cracked.com/article_16878_if-twilight-was-10-times-shorter-100-times-more-honest.html
It's frickin hilarious!

Loved the crack. As for the new season:
If you feel like laughing at something with absolutely no plot substance, Sengoku Basara and Basquash are both excellent for that purpose.

I haven't been a big fan of Shangri-la so far, but I'm finding it a bit too preachy and that might not bother everyone.

I'd definitely recommend Eden of the East. That's been my favorite of the season so far. By the maker of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and hopefully will be a big winner.

Phantom: Requiem for a Phantom also seems ok. A bit on the generic side, but I liked the second episode quite a bit.
