Timothy Drake. Bruce Wayne’s adopted son. Christine wasn’t sure if Tim’s opinion of her meant everything to Bruce regarding their relationship, but it meant everything for Christine. She had decided that if Tim did not like her she would discontinue her relationship with Bruce. She was incredibly nervous though. She had never dated anyone with ( Read more... )

After the encounter with the Phantom the previous evening, I ended up deep in thought about what his next plan of attack would be, and how Bruce and I would have to be on our toes if we were going to counter it. Yet, any plans were gonna have to be put on hold-somehow, I found myself preparing to meet with someone who wasn't anyone that I personally knew, but someone who Bruce knew.

Yeah-Christine was her name. The only question that was on my mind was, is Bruce serious about her? Could she be the one to actually break down his protective barriers, much like Selina once did, or Diana nearly did? Or, would she end up seeing Bruce as "the one who got away?"

Anyway, I found myself at a pizza place within Gotham that was well known. I hadn't brought Cassie here yet but hoped to one day. Pulling up in the Redbird, I parked her in one of the stalls before heading inside, preparing myself to meet Christine-and hoped that this would turn out for the best.

Christine knew about The Phantom. It had been all over the news. The masked man who had stolen the priceless French Blue Diamond from the Gotham Museum of Art, who had escaped Batman and Robin. She was actually extremely nervous about it-- She knew who it was, there was not a doubt in her mind and Christine had already began to plan accordingly. There was no way that Batman and Robin could handle Erik on their own…Not without devastating prices to pay. Christine was going to see to it that Gotham did not have to see an equivalent of Paris’ Great Disaster. In all honesty Christine did not know what would become of her and Bruce Wayne. He seemed genuinely interested in her, and she knew at the very least they had cemented a friendship, something that would last forever, even if their romance ended. It was too soon to think too far into the future though. But there would be no future though, Christine had decided, without Tim’s approval ( ... )

A light grin crossed my face as I shook Christine's hand with my own. A firm grip, I noted. Bruce probably already approved of her by that alone.

"Nice to meet you, Christine. And, yeah-that's me. Though, I go by Tim." I replied, the grin still on my face while offering her the chance to sit down first. I'd learned a ton of stuff from Alfred and Bruce concerning etiquette, but I'd learned about manners from my father.

"Have you ordered already, or were you waiting for me?" I added, mentally approving of Christine but still a bit curious about her.

“The pleasure is mine.” Christine promised, noting that Tim had quite good manners for a boy his age and she was pleased with that. Bruce had always been chivalrous to her, and Alfred as well. And now Tim proved that Graciousness was not dead at all, even in the youth. She sat down, and nodded.

“I’ll call you Tim then if that’s what you prefer.” Christine promised, and she committed it to memory.

She shook her head and laughed. “I ordered myself a glass of water, but I didn’t order anything else. I was waiting for you. Any idea what’s good here?”

As much as Tim had silently approved of Christine, she had decided him. He was polite and seemed quite laid-back.

“So…” She said with a breath, just as curious of him as he was of her and unsure of where to begin. She had always been good with Children but Tim was no child.
