I think of all the things others will write, the usual regrets of unspoken I love yous, or apologizes, or even a cold I regret nothing. Though I have not been alive too terribly long I do have my share of regrets, things I wish I had said yesterday or seven years ago ( Read more... )

Perhaps there are other ways of expressing your affections. Something more subtle that he would understand implicitely? An image or a song perhaps? I know this sounds repetitive but alas my own experiences are too limited to fall back on but once more and so I must base this on what I've seen between my friend and her love.

Their relationship is forbidden due to the duties that is demanded of them and so they've taken to hiding their affections in public you see. However this doesn't limit them to expressing their feelings in subtle ways that can go missed by most but understood between them. Maybe you could try this as well?

Perhaps. I just do not know if any such thing is wise, knowing Erik as well as I do expressing love to him would be dangerous to both Raoul and I-- Erik is terribly jealous, and terribly dangerous. You aren't repetitive at all. You're simply trying to help. This love triangle though is beyond all help. There will be no happy ending, I can tell...

I understand. Perhaps not completely, but from an outsider's observation I think I can see how it would be...a delicate matter to handle.

She offers a sad smile.

I'm sorry I wish I could be of more help to you...though I don't think you should give up hope entirely. Time can change someone and perhaps that is what is needed here. Time and silent observation perhaps or hidden support maybe? A way to show you care without placing yourself or the other gentleman in danger?
