[She remembers this scene very well, but she's a little surprised that it ended like that. So abruptly.]

Is that all you remember, Rita?

It isn't hard to believe, you're just being stubborn.

[This voice of reason can be a little blunt sometimes.]

I'm not being stubborn.

[... Aaand this is her, being stubborn.]

[fffff]

Have you even given Raven the chance to explain himself?

kyudousha October 27 2009, 02:04:29 UTC
... he's had plenty of chances.

[Translation: No.]

Did any of these chances not involve a fireball or two flying in his direction?

[... she's pretty sure that freeze lancers and negative gates count too, so... have silence?]

I think you owe him an explanation, Rita.

[She is actually very pleased with her progress here.]

For someone who claims to be a genius, you really aren't thinking logically.

[Her tone is still soft, but very serious. It lacks her usual sarcasm. This isn't meant as an insult, though she is sure it will be taken as one.]

[If it had been four months ago, and she had just woken up in a strange world with a weird metallic thing in her pocket and wounds on her head - she would have taken that really badly. But... funny how it takes one to be seriously blind before they realize the limit of their field of view. She hisses.]

... I don't owe him anything.

[A long pause as she lets all of this sink in. Then-]

... Is he going to be there? At the... the gathering.

Only if you want him to be.

[Keeping out the fact that he's going to be there whether she likes it or not.]

[We don't even get a choice? /sob]

... I don't want him to talk to Estelle.

Estelle can handle herself. At least she's willing to speak with him.

[She pauses, the sad glint has totally returned only to once again be unnoticed..]

It's you I'm more concerned with.

kyudousha October 27 2009, 02:36:40 UTC
... And that's exactly why I'm concerned about Estelle. She's more than willing to listen to anybody - and I'm not even sure yet if that bastard deserves Estelle's words.

[... this surprises her as well, that she's now unsure about where she stands. A few moments ago, she might've just denied Estelle's right outright, but... You know, I think we're making progress.]

[She pauses thoughtfully]

Maybe you could stand to learn a little from Estelle. She doesn't like fighting, she sees the good in people, and she places her trust where it belongs.

[She's becoming impatient, raising her voice a tad]

You're just prolonging this conflict by refusing to speak with Raven, and if you truly cared about her, you wouldn't be doing that.

She's naive. There's a difference. She's strong and she's kind and she's probably the best of all of us, but she's naive.

[... but Judith really has a way of phrasing it that really drives the point home. She's silent for a moment, then-]

... If he shows, I'll talk.
