It randomly signed me out this afternoon and when I reloaded it there was a link to sign in and it brought me to the .NET password thing and wouldn't let me sign in otherwise. So I registered for that, and it changed my layout to this really crappy thing that, incidentally, doesn't read my custom emoticons, among other stuff; at the same time, I can access something approaching the normal layout from my browser via the email website. It's vastly confusing and annoying and made of fail.

Glad yours is working, though; I wouldn't wish this on anybody.

I'd suggest talking to the MSN people, that sounds like it might be a bit dodgy...

I use trillian 90% of the time, since AIM is my main chatting medium anyway. XD I only have MSN for the random caz-radio peoples and seeker-fanciers.

I tried Trillian, I'm not liking it much, but it's better than the epic fail that MSN/WLM has turned itself into randomly.

Did you download the Astra or the 3.something version?

And, maybe you should uninstall messenger, redownload and try to sign up like that? owo

You didn't by chance upgrade MSN did you, cause its currently asking people to upgrade? If so, uninstall it and install an older version and it should let you log in with just a hotmail account rather than a .NET passport.

I'd be careful with this... I did that and it recently told me I had to upgrade... no ifs no buts and it won't even let me sign in now - keeps throwing up errors.

Also, whoever came up with .NET Passport can fuck themselves with a spatula. Beautifully put. In fact, that really made my morning :D (I've had problems with it too in the past)

I hope the uninstalling advice works, 'cause damn, that's inconvenient :S
