Anyone who ordered from discount anime, this is not looking good. Site is still down, found email and sent one no answer, found a phone number called it and it just rings and rings and rings. I am beginning to wonder if it went out of business.

Hello,

I have the same problem. I paid a lot of money for my mangas and no answer. I write to paypal and send a claim, I hope they can do something.

If someone has any suggest what should we do please tell us!

I think the best would be to go through Paypal and open a claim within 45 days? *nod nod!*

Good luck! :)

Hopefully Paypal will notice something's weird if a lot of people are opening claims against the same person? =/

BINGO SAME THING JUST HAPPENED TO ME!!! I placed an order over a month ago and they have yet to reply to me!!! Thankfully I paid through paypal and I went and requested a refund first, gave it a week and nothing. So I filed a claim yesterday so we will see what happens. Good luck. I get emails from them all the time NOW I know to NEVER order from them again.

hey. according to an article on anime news network, discountanimedvd and other online stores under the same company are being sued by funimation for selling bootleg dvds of their licenses. Because of the fact that they refused to take off and stop selling bootlegs, the host for the site was contacted and they were shut down. They now have a server from another country so I'm pretty sure you'll still get your gn. well I used to go to chinatown all the time so I can look at a box/dvd and tell. but if you're not used to it, here are a few helpful hints. First of all, look at the company that released the dvd. If it's not someone you recognize (viz, funimation, adv, etc) then it'll probably be bootleg. If you don't have that information (say you're looking at an ebay auction) you can look at a few things. Some things are: has the series been released in the US yet?, if so, how far has the series gone, if not it shouldn't be here yet. Huge giveaway is subtitles/dubs. Chinese subs = automatic bootleg. Price is also a huge give-away. If you can buy a whole season of 26 episodes on 3 discs for $30, it's probably bootleg. All in all, if it seems too good to be true, double-check it. Hope that helps. Any other questions feel free to ask =D

Also, in my experience if you are buying bootleg for whatever reason (you want to see it all before a us company picks it up, want a hard copy, you're abroad when it comes out) the best subtitles that I've seen have been on dvds which have chinese and english subtitles--but not a whole bunch of the others.

I bought Kyou Kara Maou while in Malaysia--$15 for all seasons out at the time which was all but the latest--and it had Malay subtitles too...

Lets just say Yuri says "IS LIE! IS LIE!" and a fair bit of jibberish by episode 1 and I can't see it getting better.
