It is just a few weeks away and probably two decades in the making, I'm finally going to Japan. A place where I will probably be a such a terrible outsider, but where I have always felt a belonging. Maybe just in the underground, but a place where it's OK to play with dolls, cartoons are an artform and coffins are cute!
We leave on a Friday morning and get to Narita on Saturday afternoon. We figured we'd hop the train all the way to Kyoto. We'll be there by Saturday night. If we aren't exhausted, I found a cool place called Suya opened until 02:00! (need to get hip to the military time!)
http://suya-kyoto.com/Sunday will be our first full day in Kyoto. I figured we'd explore Gion. Check out My
Kyoto Map on GOOGLE.
We'll take picturesque streets like Hanami-koji to our ultimate destination Kodaiji Temple and the awesomeness of Gion Cemetery.
After this we have a reservation at Minoko for a traditional cha-Kaiseki meal! Then to Gion Corner for the uber touristy show. Maybe an early night?
On Monday I have an appointment at Tenshi No Sato! It was the first plan I made. The afternoon will be the first of many shopping excursions. I'll hit Mimuro Kimono, Metamorphose, Flasco and BTSSB. Nishiki market too!
Nighttime will be filled with Sake along Pontocho!
Tuesday will try my husband's patience as I have a full shopping itinerary planned in Osaka! Check out my
Osaka GOOGLE MAP.
The Tour de Amerikamera includes - Pretty Power Osaka, Metamorphose, Atelier Pierrot, Innocent World, Alice Auaa, Angelic Pretty, Bodyline and a bunch more! Our reward is dinner on Dotonbori at Chibo, a multilevel Okonomiyaki emporium! And of course the beautiful night streets of Osaka.
We just can't get enough of the amazing Osaka in one day, so we are going back on Wednesday. We'll hit Den Den town and see Volks, Azone, Kotobukiya and more! Then we jump the awesome bullet train and head to Tokyo!!
