Onemanga's going away....
Well, that's too bad. But I prepared for this, so we're clear.
Besides, it looks like some of the legit companies are heading towards a legal version of these sites (though they might cost money), so I can hardly call this the end of the world. Some people are too dramatic.

*sigh* This whole mess is stupid. And between the 'OMG HOW DARE COMPANIES TRY TO TAKE AWAY MY RIGHT TO READ THEIR PROPERTIES FOR FREE!' fans and the 'SCANLATIONS ARE THE DEVIL AND IF YOU READ THEM, YOU'RE A PIRATING WHORE!' hypocrites, the wank is completely out of proportion. Right now, it's fucking hilarious, but soon it's just gonna be irritating.

I've got 5 series I keep up with frequently. Out of those 5, only one of them would drive me mad waiting, which is Detective Conan, which the U.S. has 34-35 volumes out, while Japan is in the 70's. However, I've actually made a commitment to invest in this one, and at $330 spent in manga (missed vol 33 somehow and haven't grabbed 35 yet), plus the money spent on seasons 1-4 (and 5 when I get the chance) as well as the movies, I think I will stick to being stubborn on this one...
But as for the rest, I can honestly wait for the U.S. release without much thought. But if I want to, there's a magic little serch engine called google that can help me find what I need. Or I can stick with my fandoms here or in a couple forums I know for resources. One group in particular is already making plans. This wangst is unnecessary, and not really stopping anyone who really wants to keep up with a series.
I'm excited for Square-Enix's manga site, though. Maybe they'll make Mahoraba available! ♥
