Author’s Notes:
Okay! Now that I’ve attended a Dir en grey concert, the holiday season is done and over with, and I can get some semblance of normality back into my life. I have a new chapter! I’m very sorry this took so long!

Session Seven:
The Octopus has no Friends

Kyo, Kaoru and the mysterious Tiger Boy.

Where does the third fit into all of this?

I was hoping there wouldn’t be anymore questions, only answers but... that would be too easy.

I don’t know why that boy would visit me but I know he was trying to lead me in the right direction.

At least I hope it’s the right direction...

Either way, Kaoru knows about all of this and he won’t tell either of us. He has a set of rules he needs to follow. He wants to be set free so I doubt he would do anything to slow the process down.

This is such a complicated situation that got even more complicated.

I just hope Kyo doesn’t anymore sleep walking episodes.

Kyo groaned and he heard the repetitious, and obnoxious beep of his digital alarm clock. He clumsily tried to shut if off, only to drop it on the floor.

“Shit...” Kyo grumbled, forcing himself to reach out and pick it up. He set it back on the night stand and rolled onto his back, to stare up at the ceiling. He let out a heavy sigh as he rubbed his eyes.

“If this ends up being a day that’s free from freaky shit... it’s a good day.” he said to himself.

He heard the sound of someone sobbing coming from downstairs.

“Shit... really?” He slowly got out of bed and put on his track pants and a shirt. He opened the door slowly and peered out into the hallway. He went down the stairs looking around cautiously to make sure no one was going to jump out at him.

Kyo managed to control his breathing, keeping himself from going into a panic. When he peered around the corner to the living room, he saw the mysterious boy sitting on his couch, his hands were covering his face as he weeped.

Kyo swallowed nervously as he carefully approached the other, as he got closer the whole room got colder and colder. He froze when the boy looked over at him, he turned away from Kyo and just continued to sob. “Why... must... we... remember...?” he said between sobs.

Kyo reached over to his chair, carefully taking a blanket from it and sat down beside the boy. He put the blanket over other’s shoulders, hoping to at least warm him up from the deathly chill that fills the room when he appears. He said nothing as he gently hugged him, hoping to maybe but the mysterious spirit at ease.

Kyo was terrified but, it somehow felt like the right thing to do. It felt strangely familiar some how. “It’s okay...” Kyo said rather calmly. “Why...” he swallowed nervously, “why did you come to me all of a sudden?”

The boy laughed softly as he took his hands away from his face, tears still streaming from his eyes. The eye that was replaced with the tiger eye only leaked blood as tears. “you will understand...” He turned and faced Kyo. “Trust me...” He said as he reached out with his normal hand, touching Kyo’s cheek.

Kyo trembled from the boy’s icy touch but it did feel strangely comforting. “I... I don’t know how...”

He leaned close, brushing his chapped lips over Kyo’s making a small noise as he did. The boy closed his eyes and whispered, “go back to sleep...” He then disappeared, the blanket falling onto the couch as if nothing was there.

Kyo stared at the spot the boy was at. “How is that going to help?”

Die had the day off but it seemed that work was never done for him. He was in his office in his condo, jotting down notes from the research he was doing for Kyo.

He sat back and stretched, rather impressed with himself on many of the things he found out so far. He tapped his finger on his desk, staring at his laptop before he said out loud, “Okay Kaoru... I have a feeling you’re watching me. You have a strange obsession with me. So I’m going to let you know what I think about the images in the world of dreams you create for Kyo. They are memories of your past. I don’t know who the boy is but I’m sure he’s a propionate figure in your life. Am I right?”

He sat in the room in silence.

Die sighed and leaned back in his chair. “I think I’m starting to go crazy because of you. I’m starting to talk to myself thinking you’re hanging around.” He looked back down at his laptop and started to type. “Fucking demons....”

“Dear sweet Die, that’s not very nice to speak about an acquaintance now is it?”

Die jumped and looked up. He saw that Kaoru had his back to him, the demon was looking over his book shelves. He was humming to himself as he browsed through the titles. He looked over his shoulder and gave Die a small smile, “fun fact, Kyo is wide awake right now.”

“Then go to him!” Die blurted out, slamming his fist on the table. “You keep breaking his heart because he misses you. He wants to see you here, so why the hell are you wasting your time with me?”

“Ah... if only it was that easy.” Kaoru turned to face the other fully. “I’m not going to have a lot of time here, I’m in a rather weakened state. If I stayed in my cat form, I’d be safe to stay a little longer but alas... I can’t really speak in that form.” He ran his hand over his goatee, looking rather thoughtful. “It’s amazing what a small amount of blood could do... that said I don’t want to encourage Kyo to bleed out on the book just to see me. He would do it too.”

Die sighed, “for once I actually agree with you.” He glared at the demon, “What do you want then?”

“I just wanted to let you know one thing... an answer to your questions in a way.”

“Oh...?”

He took a book from the shelf and flipped through the pages. He said in a sing song voice, “you’re getting warmer.” Kaoru looked back up at Die, “can I borrow this? Of course I can... until next time dear doctor.” He let out a throaty growl, “I look forward to ravaging your body.”

With that Kaoru disappeared with the book.

Die ran his hands over his hair and groaned loudly. He shook his head and looked back at his computer screen, suddenly letting out a sigh of relief. “At least I know I’m on the right track.” He closed his laptop and hoped Kyo was at least having a normal day.

Die had his doubts...

He opened up Kyo’s file, stared at it for a moment before picking up the phone and dialed Kyo’s number.

***

Kyo had spent most of the day catching up on a back log of work. He stared at his computer before letting out a heavy sigh. He put his fingers up to his lips and shivered. He could still feel the other’s lips over his.

He peered over to his couch, half expecting the tiger boy to be watching him. Kyo put his hands over his face and groaned, “I have to be going crazy... just go to sleep. What kind of advice is that?”

He saved his work and shut off the monitor letting out a heavy sigh, slumping up against his chair.

Kyo jumped when he heard his phone ring. “No one calls me...” he muttered to himself. He swallowed as he picked up the phone, half expecting someone to whisper ‘seven days’ in his ear.

“Hello?”

“Kyo, it’s me Dr. Andou. I just wanted to check up on you and make sure you are okay.”

“I’m fine... great...” Kyo let out a sigh of relief that it was only his theraptist. “Actually... I’m pretty freaked out right now.”

“Yeah... I know the feeling.” Die said as he ran his hand through his hair letting out a groan. “I met that boy you saw in your dreams last night. It was... terrifying. All the warmth in the air was gone, everything went cold like...”

“Like all the joy left your life.” Kyo nodded, “I know what you mean... I saw him this morning. He was crying...” Kyo got up and went to his couch. “I actually tried to comfort him.”

“What happened?”

“He told me to go to sleep.” Kyo shook his head. “Strange advice... of course now that he said it, I won’t be able too.” He let out a cynical laugh.

“Are you going to try?” Die said, his voice filled with concern.

“Well... yeah. The lack of sleep makes me crazy, and then the sleeping makes me crazy too. Still... sleep means I have a better chance on seeing Kaoru again.” He sighed, “so i’ll risk it.”

“I see...” Die sighed and closed his eyes, “Just be careful okay?”

“I will...”

“Don’t end up in some strange club.”

Kyo let out a loud groan. “I’ll never live that down will I?”

Die smiled, “Never. You take care of yourself okay? I’ll see you later.”

Kyo couldn’t help but smile a little, “Yeah... you too...” He hung up the phone and let out a sigh. He could remember how close he and Die were at kissing.

His warm breath on his lips.

Kyo shook his head. “He’s my therapist... no no no no no!” He flopped down on the couch and turned on the TV. He felt a little cynical and ended up watching romance films just so he could yell at the TV.

It passed the time for him at least.

One problem, he still didn’t feel sleepy. He wanted to do what he boy asked him to do but he felt wide awake.

“Of course... when I actually WANT to sleep.” He muttered to himself as he shut off the TV and just stared at the blank screen.

He wanted to find out more about the mysterious teenager. Especially now that he decided to start haunting him.

“Lose a demon, gain a ghost... fan-fucking-tastic. How the hell am I going to go to sleep now with all this shit running through my head?” He got off of his couch and shook his head, “desperate times call for desperate measures.”

He went upstairs to his bathroom. He had cleaned it up terrible mess he mades since he had his melt down. He opened the mirrorless medicine cabinet and took out a small pill bottle. “I didn’t want to have to use these.”

Die had recently given him sleeping pills to help with the insomnia but he just refused to take them, especially after the sleep walking incident.

Kyo popped the pill bottle open and only took one out. He stared at it before biting off half and then swallowing the peice. He just couldn’t bring himself to take the whole thing.

He went to his bed and waited for the effects to start to kick in.

“I hope I know what I’m doing...” he murmured to himself. His vision started to blur and his eye lids started to flutter. “K... Kao...? He... he’s right... there...”

Kyo could have sworn he saw Kaoru and the boy staring down at him. Both were smiling at him.

Kyo let out a small sound before he drifted off into a deep slumber.

***

Die had went to bed early but he found himself staring up at the ceiling pondering things. He was glad he was able to talk to Kyo before he finished up his research. Die was also pleased that he only had to deal with Kaoru briefly.

‘Kyo deserves better...’ he thought to himself, frowning as he sat down on his bed.

‘I admit... I have a lot of affection for him and I really do care about him... but I’m his doctor. I cannot under any circumstances take advantage of him.’

His frown turned into a scowl. He honestly really hates Kaoru for what he was doing to Kyo.

‘If Kaoru cared so much, why would he not just tell Kyo what he needs to do and get all this drama over with? Why does he have to keep torturing the other? Kyo deserves someone who has a stable life... cares about what he has to say...’

He shook his head and sighed. He needed to get that out of his head, it’s not helping him with his thoughts of keeping everything between he and Kyo professional.

He grabbled his pillow and put it over his head, “just try to get some sleep Die... just try to get some sleep.”

***

“They need to know.”

“I know... I know... but you know the rules.”

“The rules mean nothing, or you would have consumed Kyo’s soul right at the beginning. We love him and we must help him complete the final step. They MUST know.”

“Diasuke too? He has to know as well?” Kaoru touched Kyo’s cheek as he watched the other sleep. “Allow us to have some fun at least.”

“Very well. I won’t go away until you show them. We can stop being reminded of what happened to us... it is hard for us to forget. We want Kyo to be happy, the final step MUST be made. Stop prolonging it. It is only torturing us. Remember all the other times we had our chances.”

Kaoru sighed as he patted Kyo’s hair before leaning down and giving him a soft kiss on the cheek. “We have to do what we need to do.” He looked to the boy, “but like I said... we want to have fun first. Daisuke is fun to make nervous, he doesn’t know how to deal with us.”

“Of course... do not get either of them hurt in the process.” The boy glared at Kaoru, “We don’t want to make any more mistakes then we already did.”

“Of course.”

***

Die’s eyes slowly opened, his vision was blurry as he let out a yawn. He tried to move his hands but he found that he couldn’t. “What the hell?” He sat up slightly and looked at his wrists, realizing they were tied up. “How the hell did this happen?”

He heard a noise come from his hallway and his eye’s went to where his door opened. He couldn’t really see who it was though. He saw the slender form approach him, he could see the other was male. The way the man moved his hips was in a very seductive manner.

“What do you want!?”

The man got closer to Die and he saw who it was.

“Kyo?”

Kyo put his finger to Die’s lips and hushed him. He moved onto the bed and straddled his lap. Die could now see that Kyo was completely naked. He struggled to push the other off but for someone so petite, Kyo was rather strong.

“K-kyo... w-what are you doing? H-how did you get in here?” He swallowed nervously. No one could get into the building since you needed a key to get it. More so... how was he able to get into his condo when he knew full well the locked the door?

Kyo just smiled and let out a small chuckle.

Die’s eyes went wide. That wasn’t Kyo’s laugh. “Kaoru... it was you that caused those strange sleep walking incidents.”

“Surprised?” he said as he ripped open Die’s night shirt and ran his hands over his chest. “Kyo wanted to sleep... so he took half of a sleeping pill. So...” He leaned in close brushing Kyo’s full lips up against Die’s, “you can’t get rid of me easily... You hurt me... you hurt Kyo’s body. My my... I think we have a problem don’t we?”

“Ky... Kaoru! Don’t you dare do this!” He said in a rather panicked tone, as he struggled to try and kick the other off.

“Why not? I’m just giving you both what you want all while giving myself what I want. We’re all happy here, no harm done.” He grinned at Die as he slowly started to grind down on the other’s lap. “Mmm... I don’t think Kyo is the type to be the one giving, only receiving.” He leaned close to Die and started to kiss and suck on his neck.

Die let a small moan slip. The whole time Kaoru was kissing the him, Die was trying to undo the rope around his wrists.

“Just give in to the pleasure...” Kaoru said in a seductive tone. He stuck his hand down Die’s pants and slowly stroked him. He looked at the other, Kyo’s eyes started to glow red. “thankfully, even when I take over a body I can still do other things...” He grinned, the teeth were now razor sharp and much like a cat’s.

“Oh shit...” Die’s eyes widened.

Kaoru made the jaw click as the tentacles started to come out from Kyo’s back. They slithered up Die’s body, touching all of his skin. “This is where the real fun begins...”

Die gritted his teeth as he struggled against his bindings.

Kaoru moved his hand away from Die and crawled back on top of him. “We play by my rules.”

“There’s one problem with that Kaoru...” Die said as he looked the other in the eyes. Despite the glowing red, he knew Kyo was in there somewhere struggling to wake up. There’s no way his body being jerked around this much would keep him in a deep sleep, even under such a small dosage of a sleeping pill.

“What problem is that Doctor?” He said as he leaned close grinning a toothy grin.

He moved his hands away from the bed posts and punched the other square in the jaw. “Learn to tie a knot.” He got out of the bed quickly, realizing just how stupid of a move that was. Not only did he hurt Kyo, he pissed off a demon as well.

“Why... you....” he growled, shaking his head. To Die’s relief, his punch was enough to break Kaoru’s concentration on having the tentacles out. Kaoru wasn’t at one hundred percent of his power when he possesses a body. He rubbed Kyo’s jaw, Kaoru had not felt physical pain in such a long time. “I’m sorry my love.” he muttered to himself as he looked at Die with a glare. “You punched me!”

Die went up to the other and slapped him hard across the face repeatedly. “Wake the fuck up Kyo! WAKE UP!!”

“What... the... OW!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?” That was clearly Kyo’s voice.

Die stopped and let out a sigh of relief. “Oh thank god it’s you.”

“What do you mean it’s me... of course it’s me! where... am I?” He looked around rubbing his red cheek. “Wait...” He looked down and gasped, covering himself up. “WHY THE HELL AM I NAKED!?”

“Calm down Kyo...” He said as he threw an extra pair of pants at the other, “You had a sleep walking episode and came into my condo.”

“How?”

“Kaoru.”

“What!?” He swiftly put the pants on. “Kaoru brought me here?”

“Kaoru’s been the one taking over your body... hence the sleep walking episodes you’ve been having.”

“So what did he want with you...” He paused and sighed, “never mind I think I know what he wanted.”

“You’re okay now. We’re okay now...” Die said with a sigh of relief as he put a new shirt. He went over to Kyo and put his hand on his shoulder. “I know you want to see him... but I really REALLY don’t want to see him.” he chuckled.

Kyo started to quiver. “Is it starting to get really cold in here?”

Die tilted his head to the side and felt the chill as well.

“Enough... we have had enough....”

They heard the raspy voice speak, both men looked over to see Kaoru and the boy standing side by side.

“Kao...” Kyo brightened up seeing the other physically in front of him. He didn’t get up though, the look on Kaoru’s face was serious and he knew well enough not to make a sudden movement towards the other.

Both the demon and the ghost went up to the men.

“They must know...” the boy said sternly to Karou.

Kaoru closed his eyes and nodded, “they must know...”

Kaoru put his hand on Die’s shoulder, the boy put his on Kyo’s. They closed their eyes and a bright light flashed.

The room was empty, no trace of anyone to be found.
