My body hates me...

Aug 26, 2011 23:56

My mother got back from her Washington DC trip, just in time to avoid the hurricane. My first response when she got back was "Yay, now I can eat things other than my own crappy cooking!" But then my body decided that it hates me and that everything I eat today would make me horribly sick. This happens every month, though this month has been a bit ( Read more... )

Sorry you're feeling sick, but don't purposefully starve yourself. :/ Starving yourself will actually make you gain weight unless you plan to go through with it for weeks and weeks. So just keep eating what you can.

I've heard that's true for most people. My father and I actually tend to lose weight when we go on starvation "diets". (With diet in parentheses because, when I do skip meals or starve myself on purpose, the main reason is never to lose weight.)

With that said, I finally broke down and took some meds, and I'm feeling better now.

Please do not starve yourself, it actually does more harm then good! Also, denying your body nutrition leads to other problems as you age, like memory loss. I guess I should take my own advice?! When I first started dieting, I found the only way to kick start it was to deny my body food...:\

Oh no, I never do it to intentionally lose weight, though I do tend to lose weight as a side effect of it. When I skip meals on purpose, it's usually for other reasons, like trying to save money or because I'm too sick to eat anything (which was the case today).

I finally sucked it up and took some over the counter meds to help with the sickness. I'm feeling much better now, and can actually eat again, so... yay? :D

That is good, like I said I did do it to jump start my diet...Well, I wouldn't actually call it starving myself, more like majorly cutting back for a day or two! You should not skip meals to try and save money, even if you eat a handful of nuts, it is better then nothing. Though, I am not sure what is bringing on your sickness?!

Great, I am glad you are feeling better. I can often be a noggin head when it comes to taking something for just a simple headache...XD
