Never thought I'd be asking this on LJ of all places, but...

I was browsing F!S when I saw this comment: "If you have a unibrow, however... I'm sorry."

Oh... I think my self confidence just fell five points. *has had a unibrow since puberty*

Possible tmi. Anyone want to give me girl advice? )

You have a unibrow too? So it's not just meeee? ;__;

So standard, older-than-me, maybe slightly rusty tweezers are ok to use? Asking because there seems to be a ton of beauty products that look like every-day tools, but are somehow different/better? I've never been able to figure it out.

i think most people do but chicks get them waxed or something.

in my opinion, if it can pluck hairs, it's good enough

If they're rusty, I wouldn't use them (health issues of rust in injuries), but otherwise, normal tweezers should be fine.

I am blessed with slow growing leg and eyebrow hair, but there are special razors for eyebrows that work well for shaping. As for tweezers, normal ones work just fine :3 I use the razors, though, because I hate pain >.>;;

Thanks.

I hate pain too, but since I've failed with the standard "female razors" for years, I figure it's time to try something else.

I don't have a unibrow, but my eyebrows are a bit crazy and hairs sprout up a little outside the "lines", so normally I just pluck! I have normal every-day tweezers. The pain isn't really that fun but i think since you're doing it between the eyebrows it's not as painful as under them? ANYWAY good luck man, I should pluck mine more often...

That JUST started happening to me last week. Where did these random hairs come from and why are they growing on my forehead?!

Under the eyebrow is super painful. I've accidentally stabbed myself there a few times.

I used to be fine with my eyebrows until my best friend starting going "I want to trim your eyebrows" and "you need to go to a beauty parlor" and basically implying that I should get it taken care of somewhere. Come to think of it, that friend is probably the reason for half of my self image issues. But that's another story entirely.

My sister asks to wax my eyebrows all the time. I think people whose eyebrows are too thin look funny, and I like mine just fine as they are.

It's like women having slightly darker hair around their nipples. It can be a sign of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) or an overbalance of testosterone, but if it isn't a health issue why try to change it? Eventually it's going to be revealed to your significant other or whoever when you get too lazy to deal with it.

It's not like having a unibrow is going to keep you out of a job or anything.

Oh man this speaks to me. I have the worst problem with eyebrows. If I let them go they get up to 2cm wide at the end where they're supposed to be thin; it's awful. They're MANBROWS. They're so thick and coarse that waxing doesn't work because the wax doesn't grip the hair strongly enough to actually pull it out. So I have to use a combination of tweezers and epilator (it's like battery-operated tweezers, but I use a special tiny one by Remington specially for small areas which cost me like, $5). Combination because sometimes even the epilator isn't strong enough to pull the hair. I also use special bleach which is for sensitive areas like face and arms to keep them looking normal ( ... )

Mine don't thin out at the ends either, though I'm too lazy to fix that most of the time. I've never heard of an epilator, but I'll look into it. Thanks.

I would love it if my unibrow would go away forever! I didn't used to have one. It's like a "gift" that I received to celebrate of puberty... or something. XD
