Anyway, Michele got here on Friday night, and I'm overjoyed. I've survived without her here, but unhappily. Even Naheed told me that I wasn't any fun without Michele

It's so good to hear from you - I was becoming concerned that you'd been nabbed by a thuggee, or bitten by another one of those damned monkeys. The wheel of Kulfi is such a great invention - ice cream and gambling combined into one neat package. Do you have an address for snail-mail right now? I have something that I was going to send you aeons ago.

P.S. Are there any pictures of the giant king of Jaipur? Also, what was his name?

I couldn't find any pictures of Sawai Madho Singh I on the Internet, and we weren't allowed to take pictures in the galleries at the palace. But this kurta was really something to see. Yeah, that kulfi thing was a pretty brilliant idea. I think we need to see some enterprises like that in the US.
