I've been working from home since Tuesday because of a severe case of poison oak. I've never had it before and I definitely don't want to get it again. The unfortunate part about poison oak (I've had it many times) is that you can't really make it go away faster since it's basically an allergic reaction. It should go away within two weeks though. And only the first week should suck really bad. Once most of it has gotten to the pussy outbreaking part it means you've hit the peak and it should heal up a lot faster after that.

Showers can make it spread more obvious since your skin will absorb water and the oils can move around more easily. So while I hate not showering I try to do it as little as possible when I have case. If you do need to shower try to make them short and use cold water as the hot water will open you pores and make it more likely to spread. :/

But generally once it shows up you've got an annoying two weeks ahead of you. The other important thing is to clean the things you use so you don't re-infect yourself. :)

I treated my laundry like the biohazard that it was and wouldn't touch it with my bare hands, but still rinsed off after being near it. Everything in my house became a suspect, it started to feel like an Oliver Stone movie...

But in all seriousness, thanks for the advice. I've never had this shit and it was positively miserable until I got medication. Fucking nature.

Seriously! Hippies always go on and on about how kind nature is. Nature is a vicious bitch.
