As far as I can tell, this is not a scam. Spam is inevitable, just use a throwaway email account if you're worried about more from this place.

The company offering this promotion is on the level.

Basically, you sign up and are presented with a list of about eight deals. Most are free. A few require a credit card number, but it won't be charged if you cancel before the trial period ends (these are legitimate corporations like AOL and Real). And some of the deals seem pretty decent (free trials of AOL's and Real's music stores). The company offering this promotion makes money any time a person signs up for one of the deals, even if you don't end up paying for the services after the trial period ends. I think it's a pretty nifty way of going about things. :)

Being the good girlfriend that I am (or try to be) I have signed up and completed an offer. Seven more to go! Good luck.

Hey, I'm new the Chambana area, and I'm on the lookout for PLM (people like me). I'm a bit of a dork (well, more than a bit), and while I find I can talk to anyone, I get bored easily and want to talk to people who are a little more of what I consider interesting...you seem to fit that bill!
So, in the dorkiest way I know how, "will you be my friend?"
:-)
