Such a strange, cruel world

May 03, 2008 12:58

Where I live, a man and a woman cannot go in a public restaurant to eat if they are not husband and wife.  If the couple is married, they must carry their marriage certificate at all times.  If they are caught without one they go to jail.  And believe me,  being in jail here is your worst nightmare.  Welcome to my world.

Here's the awful truth:  Read more... )

Gees don't ever forget it, will you!! how scary, where do you live again :) I bet you'd rather stay home, I know I would, hope your well, will you be getting DH over there, I'm sure it will be all over the net & Ytube & the LJ of course, I only watched S1 years ago, I hope he's back for the next season, seems silly to just put him in the finale' & never see him again, *crosses fingers* I hope it's not just a one off, what do you think? I just want to see him back on the TV weekly, not in a 1 off guest appearance, I am a worry wort :) hugs jx

Oh, I have my marriage certificate with me always.

They won't show the current DH here. I will have to wait months if I wait for it on TV. But I'm sure I can download the episode from a bittorrent somewhere. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Gale.

Ana, do you know this nurse? How awful. I have no hope that this world will ever be a place of moderation and equality any time soon.

Be careful!

Nope, don't know her. The hospital I work with is also different. At least during the rare times that someone got in trouble, our hospital is quick to act. They would get the person out of jail and out of the country as soon as possible.

This kind of thing doesn't really happen often. Everyone knows the rules. Before my husband and I got married, we've never risk going out in a public place together. The consequence is just too great. It's very, very, hard to go out on a date here. Makes one appreciate the freedom of one's own country, eh?

It really does.

Please leave there someday, Kyle. Sent you a postcard on Thursday that I made. it's in a Kraft envelope; will probably take three weeks or so don't you think? One to get there and one to get to you if it's not opened and removed.

Nope, here it is on my scanner. I'll put it in the mail on the 8th. ;-) Thanks so much for everything. Miss hearing from you and writing. First, it was the water damage, then, the working and Post Card Xchange group and now, it's vertigo. Pish posh. Hope you enjoy it. It's from Savannah.

Oh, thanks for the postcard in advance! I received a postcard today, I thought it was from you. It was from Katy, she went to Egypt and got me a postcard.

We won't be leaving soon but we're doing okay. How ironic is it to be married and enjoy more freedom than single people?

I hope you're feeling better. Take care always. I worry about you too.

Oh, how is Katy, anyway? Don't talk to or hear from her anymore.
Are they married by now?

Now that you put it that way, more freedom for married people, that's an interesting view.

I'm fine, just the usual spring vertigo. This one has gone on for a week or so, though, and is seriously interferring with my working at the schools.

I love substituting for the first time in my life and don't dread it. It's great fun observing the kids and watching what they do and not personalizing it for the most part.

It's interesting how very little I had to do with what went on in the classroom and how much of it I took responsibility for. It's a new kind of freedom to be shed of that kind of an outlook. Remember that December thing that happened and I was so upset. Definitely not much to do with me. It's interesting to look back with such a different pov.

Think of you lots.

Do you get my emails? when I finally send them?

Where are you going for your next trip out of the country?

Katy's still at the university in Stuttgart. She's with her boyfriend but not married yet.

No, I didn't get any emails from you for the longest of time. I sent you some but I thought you were just busy.

I'm going to Spain on August.

Did you get my Christmas cards and New Year's Cards? and valentines?

Haven't heard from you on my email for a long time.

Was out of commission for almost 6 weeks from FEbruary 17-end of March with water damage and moving in and out of my home etc.

Hmmm...I'll have to go look. Maybe I missed them.

Great to talk to you now. Did you get the thank you I sent for the napkin rings?

Or was that during Feb and thought I was going to do it and never did?
