Last week over on Twitter, vegan comfort food emulator Thee Burger Dude (@TheeBurgerDude) wondered how much vegan chili he could make for $36. Interesting. I would have to add lots of garlic though.

I wasn't aware the Roswell book was out!

Yes! You can pick up the Roswell book from CookingWithRoswell.com - I would have added garlic too, but with the budget, I'd have had to take something out....

A little mor than 10 years ago I co-ran the green room at Arisia, and we made something like 10 batches of vegan chilli with TVP. It was super cheap at the time. One of the least expensive things we made outside of oatmeal. We also did a moroccan veg stew that was a hit. One year we went completely overboard and made a vegan thai green curry with home made vegan 'fish' sauce.
