Just out of curiosity, where do you buy your figures?

It depends, sometimes I'll buy them anywhere based on whether I see a good sale there or it's convenient. For example, I've bought a few figures (my Genshiken cosplay Saki figure, I think the Revoltech Yotsuba I got Gerald for Christmas) from Right Stuf because I was already ordering stuff from them and their prices were decent with free shipping.

Shipping makes a big difference--I try to check domestic or free-shipping places if I can, to see whether their markup is less than I'd pay with shipping from Japan or whatever. Sometimes it's not even international: I bought my Balthier figure direct from the Square-Enix USA store (I bought my Shinra business card holder and needed another item to meet the minimum order requirement) but their shipping charges were rather high, so when I bought a Kingdom Hearts figure for a gift I just got that from Right Stuf--around the same price but free shipping.

A good place to buy figures in general is Hobby Link Japan. They ship from Japan so shipping can be a bit much, but their selection is good ( ... )

No problem! I think sometimes it's difficult to find intro information for things like that. Most of the blogs or sites are geared towards already hardcore collectors or just for showcasing photos, so they may not answer basic questions like that. Most of the stuff that I know is because I personally know other people who do figure/kit collecting and building, so if there's stuff I don't know I can ask them.
