There's video out of Square Enix's tech demo for PS3 where they remade part of the opening for FFVII. It looks pretty amazing, and it's beginning to look like this system might be able to do the stuff Sony's saying it will. Of course, this doesn't necessarily indicate what the sold home system will do at release time, but it shows some more ( Read more... )

Considering the vast majority of the so called 'live demos' that actually wound up being pre-rendered FMV during Sony's PS2 hype campaign, it's probably a moot point to even attempt to judge based on anything they release at this point. Wait for a few months before retail release and see what the actual first gen games look like...

Oh, I would expect this is most likely pre-rendered. Like I said, this doesn't mean this is what the games will look like when the system's actually out in stores. But even so, it's looking interesting.

I loved FFVII. I hope that they would make the game longer if they remake it, as I decided to put the control pad down and turn the game off when I finally killed Sephiroth with Knights of the Round. By my turning the game off, I caused the story to never really "end" for me.

But I'm weird like that.
