So my February Femslash meme is not forgotten - it's just on hold as I deal with the semester ending (#sobs), getting ready to fly home, and get semi-substantial work done on my thesis*.

I did not watch past S3 and am quite glad of my decision.
We can accept monstrosity in George and Mitchell because it is physical - it is a daily battle of mind over body. But when Annie embraces her darkness, it is purely metaphysical. It is all about her reaching into that dark space and bringing it forth. The pure potential of Annie's darkness is always standing right there on the ledge, threatening to entice her - but is never presented as a threat to her in the way that Mitchell and George struggle with their natures. No. Annie is dark and fierce when she chooses to. And she never loses herself in it, because it is totally in her control.

I did not watch past S3 and am quite glad of my decision. I watched 402 and really liked it because there was another set of ghost/vampire/werewolf that were really cutey and old and had been together for 50 years... but the ghost was really awful to Annie about "losing" her original set and there was a lot of !guilt placed on Annie/George for not being able to keep their vampire under control? And Annie was SO OOC it was horrible to watch. I'm so upset about the fact that 4/5 even exist, tbh ( ... )

It maybe is a place where the BtVS fandom is dominant, but I still think that if an icon is really pretty it can get votes. (But, of course, your point still stands. I tend to vote Buffyverse icons because I know the characters)

Yes, a well-made icon *can* get votes, but the Buffy-fandom domination of the space is making it difficult for other fandoms to get a good foothold, I feel. (There was one particular challenge where the winners really bothered me because they were obviously voted on by fandom and not by skill and I'm hesitant now that something like that so blatantly happened.)
Annie is perfect. End of story.

Yes. Yes it is. I am so excited to see Maggie Q as Tori in the movie because FLAWLESS CASTING. And now I think I need to go recommend these books to pocochina because she's going to have the same Evelyn feels you do.
Have you read them all yet? Because I want to talk about the ending with someone who will understand my feelings.

I should warn you that I was happier with the end of this series that with the end of HG. I really felt resolved and satisfied by the ending.
Ah... Scott isn't stupid. He and Jason are just a little pompous. Trying to explain to people that I don't see the flashsideways characters as necessarily different from our original Losties is really, really hard. Like... they think I'm being stupid? But I'm not - I just don't see them as different people. Locke is still Locke. Kate is still Kate. LIKE FANFIC. I can write about Dawn Summers making out with Allison Argent all I want. Doesn't mean I created a WHOLE NEW CHARACTER, it means I want to see what happens when Dawn and Allison make out. Which is what S6 is. They aren't ( ... )

Even though the horrible science made me head!desk most of the time, the psychology of it was pretty stellar.
((Please tell me there is a bunch of HG/D crossovers where Panem is another experiment somewhere and everyone is boggled by the effects and it is somehow kept secret but Evelyn (or someone else) finds it and is like: WE MUST FIX!))
