I read of this earlier in the month. As I have a soda maker, I immediately made a batch. It is delicious with any kind of citrus juice, but probably best with lime. I made my aunt a bottle when she had a family brunch for my cousin's visit earlier in the month, and I added a bottle to my brother's Christmas present. I've got another bottle in ( Read more... )

This is the (almost) instant gratification version.

The only time I've had home made ginger beer was when the guy I was dating 2004/2005 made it. It's neat fermenting your own fizz.

Started a double batch...I had a pound (about, little over, but I used some to make kimchi and pumpkin bread), and it's awesome ginger from H-Mart (nice non-dried out skin, juicy.) We love the Goya ginger beer/soda that kicks you in the teeth with spice, so here's hoping it's similar. :)
