I really want to do some pixel pillows, like the question mark box from Mario, but I have to wait until I come across a couch I can both afford and stand. No sense in making something that won't match.
My biggest tip of the day is, of course, thrifting. Larry and I went out this weekend and got:
3 Star Wars Bobbleheads (Anakin, Luke, Han) 1 mini Magnaguard from Star Wars 1 Wild West Spongebob Squarepants 1 Rubik's Cube (well worn-in) 1 Bugs Bunny figure 1 evil-looking Knight/Horse combo 1 Super Mario Bros figure (c. 1994) 1 LGM (Little Green Men) bowl with lid (now housing sugar)
Umm... Well, I'm pretty sure there's more than that in the action figure category, plus I got a couple of things for the apartment. And, it all came in *under* $10. Best ever!
So, yeah. I'm totally going to do a pixel Megaman tonight, plus I was thinking a big Triforce over the fireplace. Should nerd it up some, right?
You can take construction paper, cut it accordingly, and fold it into colorful paper cubes. (big or small, whichever you prefer) Then you take the cubes, and glue them together to make none other than Tetris blocks! With them, you can put them on walls, shelves, tables, wherever really. Or if you feel really industrious, you can get some thin, transparent thread or string, and use that to hang up the blocks in doorways, so it's like they're actually falling down!
I like that idea quite a bit, actually. And I just happen to know how to make paper cubes pretty easily.
Also, I like the idea of the pieces hanging, but with Larry being 6'3", I have a hard time placing anything in doorways -- he just hits his head off of it, over and over again. Poor guy. XD
Still, I think that's a fantastic idea, and I'll likely be implementing it and posting pictures. Yay!

If you can find legos (or something similar) for cheap, some people make pixel-y things out of those. XD
Perhaps this place can give you some ideas: http://www.spritestitch.com/
