Unless of course she is prone to depression, really is depressed and therefore ill. I'm not saying she should goto the other school but we should at least have a look at the notion she is depressed as a doctor has already diagnosed that problem, perhaps a second opinion is in order.

I don't buy it. At all. The longer she stays away from school the worse it's going to get because when she eventually does join a school (any damn school) she'll be the new kid, whereas if she'd just joined up with the rest she'd be one of 30 new kids.

Maybe it isnt because she isnt with her friends. Maybe she is just schoolaphobic. I was and i was at the same school as everyone else i knew. My mom forced me to go to school but i cant say that on somedays it did any good. On days when i had panic attacks, my teachers would be forced to give up and let me hide in the bathrooms because if they tried to get me out, id start crying hysterically.

The article's said it's because she's not with her friends, it sounds like the doctor has made a hasty diagnosis and called it depression rather than realising that kids don't like to not be with their friends but sometimes in this life you can't have what you want.
