“But the fact remains that the ladies and TEH GAYS (and even the gay ladies!) are doing pretty darn well for themselves here. (Here’s a test of that one: how many female film directors can you name in 30 seconds, and how many female designers? How many powerful fashion media ladies can you come up with right now, and how many CEOs in finance?)  ( Read more... )

I feel way too busy this year, but next year we should try to go to something during Fashion Week! I don't even know how to go about it but STILL. Put this on our list of things to do pls.

Did you read the article? DO IT. It's awesome.

I will put it on the list, but I don't know what we can actually do, sadly. It is on this Saturday, maybe I will hang around Somerset house... or is that too sad? I will dress up though, because why not.

If you're planning to hang around Somerset House next weekend you could enter this - http://wishwishwish.net/?p=971 - and try to get in!

The fashion article was interesting...not sure I entirely agree but I'd never thought about the fact that its both an artistic and a business field where women excel and are taken seriously.

I actually came here to say OMG I started watching White Collar after seeing you write about it loads and it is amazing! I'm already five episodes in! I cannot believe you neglected to mention Kelly Kapowski is in it, that actually made me week :)

Thanks, I read her blog, but I don't even have a twitter or any inspiration as to what I could take a picture of. I think if I do go tomorrow it might be for a little bit only. :)

It makes points I hadn't really considered and it does so very well, I thought. It is a little extreme perhaps, but I think not in a way that distracts from her argument. I am interested, what in particular do you not agree with?

Yay, White Collar, this pleases me enormously. :D Isn't it heaps of fun? Hee, I am sure I mentioned at some point that Kelly is in it, and she is so awesome, but my EPIC love is all for Neal and his sunshine smile.

Winter. It should seriously be over now. I miss spring so muuuuch.

I'm really glad that you linked to this article! When I was younger I hated fashion, and then gradually I began to like it more. ...Except I really have no fashion-sense. This article was great to read and brought up a lot of interesting points. I love that people are realizing that being into fashion doesn't mean anti-feminist.

Have you seen Coco Before Chanel? It's such a good movie, and it really made me think about fashion differently.

Me too, yesterday was sunny (still cold, though) and it seriously improved my mood. :D

Yeah, me too. I wasn't into fashion when I was younger, I didn't hate it or anything, I was just clueless, but recently I have become a lot braver and it's really fun. I don't think it's about following the trends, but it's about dressing in a way that makes you happy.

I have seen it, I loooooove that movie so very much. I have even written what may well be the only fic in existence for it.
